PCM - Are they an Approved Operator???

Hi,

Newbie here. Trying to read through all the Newbie stuff regarding what to do with a PCN that was on my car yesterday from Parking Control Management. I haven't appealed yet as I wanted to check if I had grounds to.

But I just had a look on the British Parking website at the Approved Operators (unable to post the link up unfortunately) to see if PCM are an Approved Operator, and it would appear that they are not. I can't find them on this list anywhere! So does that mean that they will not be able to access any personal details (name/address etc...) from the DVLA? Therefore will be unable to pursue this PCN unless I provide details to them when appealing on there website?

Also, the Traffic Warden took 16 pictures of my car (I've been told by an ex Traffic Warden that it should only be 7!), and 3 of them were very close up pictures of inside my car which I found very intrusive! Is that legal?

Appreciate any feedback and apologies if this is something I could of found through searching the numerous posts. Just thought it would be quicker if someone knew whether I could ignore the PCN because this Company are not approved.

Thanks. :)

you looked at the wrong site, you should have checked the other site, the IPC

    http://www.theipc.info/#!aos-members/cv75

yes they can use the dvla

as they are a private company, they should not be confused with council enforcement officers or council rules , so I see no problem with legality even if they took 100 pictures

now please read the NEWBIES thread at the top of this forum

Everyone has grounds to appeal and everyone wins. He wasn't a Traffic Warden - you are giving this private scumbag firm far too much respect!

Please show us a picture of the sign while you await the Notice to Keeper in the post (see the advice in the top thread, no-one appeals YET to PCM for reasons fully explained there in the sticky thread).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ok I'll attach some pics if I can... (the sign is half way up a road on the entrance to a Housing Estate car park. The car has been parked in this same spot before under the assumption the restrictions are beyond the signage and not before as there are no road markings to state specifically where the restrictions are or start)

There is only one sign on that side of the road. Nothing on the opposite side, and no road markings anywhere.

Having trouble attaching a pic as it keeps telling me to put up a link, which as a new user I am not allowed to do. Is it not possible to attach jpeg's on here? Or can I email to you?

Change the http to hxxp, and/or put a gap in it so it's not a working link (we will convert it).

Can't see it - you'll need to host the pics on Photobucket or Tinypic first. Make sure we can read the words on the sign, that's what we want to see. EXACT words (not typed here).

I haven't got a Tinypic or Photobucket account or anything like that I'm afraid. Can you PM me your email address and I'll email to you them over to you?

Sorry to be a pain! :undecided
