Ah thank you ladies, I shall persevere and try not to let it mar my opening day with thoughts of what 'could' have been in there. A certain someone will have to live with the knowledge of what they did and that I know, plus they will now have absolutely no opportunity to help themselves to anyone's money in the family again as I was not backwards about coming forward to all members in the extended family about what had happened.

I can't tell you just how saddened I was on reading that, jakes-mum, it must have been such a shock to you. Keep your eyes peeled though as, no doubt, if THAT much has gone it may just be noticed, if not now then further down the line.

For now, many {{{hugs}}} to you as I know you cherish your beloved pots. Sadly, locks and keys now come to mind. :shhh:

I potted exactly £22 this morning, it was the rest of the change i'd collected from October. I also added £30 to my holding pot. I should be on around £798.71 which i think is over last years total so yay!!


Jakes-Mum that is such a horrible thing to happen in your own home. At least everyone knows now and you are such a strong lady for being able to just draw a line and move on from it.

A little late in the day for this year but I would like to join in for next year. I am wishing I had saved more over this year for Christmas but plan to use this challenge and the 52 week challenge to save towards Christmas 2015.

I added another fiver to the Pot this Afternoon....Feels good to be Potting....Even if I don't quite get to where I wanted to be....As long as Christmas is Free for me then I'll be happy

It's so good to hear it came in handy for you, cattysmum, however, why not take a look at Page 1 at the "Holding Pot" idea - that way your "sealed pot" (I sincerely hope it was ) will remain that way and you'll still have cash for necessaries. Best wishes with your Florida plans!


Very well saved, vanilla twist, the first year's always a little difficult to gauge, but so long as we try to keep total sums out of our minds and to think as low as we can, it should still be a good surprise, and your pot certainly sounds to have been well fed! I'm so pleased you've decided to hang fire until the 27th!! :j

Bring on opening day indeed, AlwaysHappy, and it's not long to wait now!! I really hope your DS is doing well.

How about half in each fund, Trixxibell, at least it would give both a boost.

My poor DH has a rotten throat throat and chest infection. Still, hopefully now he's finally given in and been to the Dr it'll soon shift and he'll be fine again...and no more barking, especially at night.

I am so terribly proud of all our Sealed Pot Family members. You've all been saving like mad, some only shrapnel as that's all that can be afforded, but don't ever think 'it's not much' because it is and most important of all YOU SAVED IT!!!!! :j Press on Potters and let's all be sooooooo chuffed with ALL or ANY we've saved!!!! Bon voyage mes amies for the rest of this year's journey!!!!!
