Ah thank you ladies, I shall persevere and try not to let it mar my opening day with thoughts of what 'could' have been in there. A certain someone will have to live with the knowledge of what they did and that I know, plus they will now have absolutely no opportunity to help themselves to anyone's money in the family again as I was not backwards about coming forward to all members in the extended family about what had happened.SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000

I can't tell you just how saddened I was on reading that, jakes-mum, it must have been such a shock to you.
Keep your eyes peeled though as, no doubt, if THAT much has gone it may just be noticed, if not now then further down the line.
For now, many {{{hugs}}} to you as I know you cherish your beloved pots. Sadly, locks and keys now come to mind. :shhh:

I potted exactly £22 this morning, it was the rest of the change i'd collected from October. I also added £30 to my holding pot. I should be on around £798.71 which i think is over last years total so yay!!
Jakes-Mum that is such a horrible thing to happen in your own home. At least everyone knows now and you are such a strong lady for being able to just draw a line and move on from it.Sealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

A little late in the day for this year but I would like to join in for next year. I am wishing I had saved more over this year for Christmas but plan to use this challenge and the 52 week challenge to save towards Christmas 2015.Books - the original virtual reality.

NB everyone! Unlike sparky I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TAKE ANY BANKED AMOUNTS FROM YOUR SIGS, I'm trusting that you'll all be able to give me the entire sums you've saved when you declare on the 27th. Thanks a lot folks.Hi everyone. I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and a good Monday. Keep saving hard as we've not got much longer to go!!!! :jsavingpennies wrote:A little late in the day for this year but I would like to join in for next year. Evening everyone. Hope you've all had a good, if cold, day...saved as well!__jakes-mum wrote:Am driving myself mad at the minute as im on the hunt for Christmas tree decorations, but I don't want the usual stuff they bring out year after year in the shops, I want something special. I put a post up on my FB crafty page but no-one had what I wanted, i've had a look on etsy but everything that caught my eye was in america and I worried that as most things I liked were glass, would they get here in one piece etc. I don't want things like beads on wire or sequins in baubles as I could just make those myself, I wanted something truly unique, something that took ages to learn to do and required a natural talent! How do I find this?!?!
I shouldn't worry too much about glass items being broken, jakes-mum, I've no doubt that anything fragile will be packed accordingly. Personally, we've never had problems with glass objects from the US. I've not heard of the firm, but can you ask the seller about packaging in advance? Thanks so much for all your help..and the help still to come, very grateful indeed.
I too hope you've exceeded your target this year, beccah, I hope EVERYONE has!!!! :j Good to see you dropping by before D-Day.
It's so good to hear it came in handy for you, cattysmum, however, why not take a look at Page 1 at the "Holding Pot" idea - that way your "sealed pot" (I sincerely hope it was) will remain that way and you'll still have cash for necessaries. Best wishes with your Florida plans!
Very well saved, vanilla twist, the first year's always a little difficult to gauge, but so long as we try to keep total sums out of our minds and to think as low as we can, it should still be a good surprise, and your pot certainly sounds to have been well fed! I'm so pleased you've decided to hang fire until the 27th!! :j
Bring on opening day indeed, AlwaysHappy, and it's not long to wait now!! I really hope your DS is doing well.bmma wrote:Looking forward to opening the pot- did not count as it went in as I did not set a target- only small coinage put in:j
Small change or not, it's always safer in your pot, bmma, not long to go but still time to save more!!! :j
How about half in each fund, Trixxibell, at least it would give both a boost.
My poor DH has a rotten throat throat and chest infection. Still, hopefully now he's finally given in and been to the Dr it'll soon shift and he'll be fine again...and no more barking, especially at night.crimson.addict wrote:I potted exactly £22 this morning, it was the rest of the change I'd collected from October. Bon voyage mes amies for the rest of this year's journey!!!!!Have a lovely weekend, Potters, save well - and remember - after today there are only......21 DAYS until 27th November!! :j
