jakes-mum - £2 coins should be held in reverence. They are VERY special and very rare, therefore should be kept separate due to this very nature. ;)

DH and I have just got back from holiday, so very little potting/no potting has been done... Until today! A whole £1 potted! :j :j

We are currently at loggerheads in the jakesmum household, DH says that next year we should not have seperate tins, I say that those lovely £2 coins are deserving of their own tin and it is close to blasphemy to try and say they are not special and thus only worthy of potting with all the other coins!

I now require backup from my SPC buddies that I am (as always) right, and he is oh so very wrong and to be quiet and leave me to my happiness

Well,of course £2 coins are special, and worthy of their own [STRIKE]temple[/STRIKE] tin.Everyone who pots know just what a rare species they are,to be captured and kept in seclusion so as to avoid being lost among the riff-raff of other currency.Next SPC I am going to have a seperate pot for £2 coins.

This afternoon I potted £1.12 found around the house over the last week or so,and £1.47 of last month's roadkill.(just added up the numbers, and since October 23rd 2013,to end October 2014,I have found £93.08 roadkill

I would say that if he values his sanctity he would agree that whatever makes you happy is the best idea :rotfl:

so am putting my £5 into the pot instead :)

My dad would tend to agree with you, he has a special money box just for them. It's a little piggie with my sons name on it, he started putting them away when DS was born and when full puts it into the bank for him. He has saved over £1500 in 13 yrs, considering he's like the Queen and doesn't handle cash much he's done well. I think when he is allowed to have money he must ask every till person for £2 coins in his change that way he gets to save more.

DS is asking to do one for next year so I have to buy 3 pots for next year. I'm challenging my mum and dad to see which family can pot the most, dad is keen but mum's not very. We'll see what happens.

Well, that's it. Wedding is over and we can relax! It was a lovely day, even the weather was great.
The Bride looked gorgeous, the service was fun, the Priest had everybody clapping and shouting hurray when they'd said their vows, and after he'd pronounced them man and wife.
I managed to do the reading without fluffing it.
Even got a laugh in the "father of the bride " speech (hubby wouldn't do it,said he hadn't the confidence) So proud of the little bridesmaids, they didn't put a foot wrong, even my youngest granddaughter (the muck magnet) managed to stay clean.
I even held it together and didn't cry until the what my daughter called the Daddy, daughter dance. The words to the song are sooo beautiful. It was Butterfly Kisses, bring it up on youtube, I bet you'll be crying too!
The Bride and Groom had been going to dancing lessons because they were determined their first dance wouldn't be a shuffle left and right like all the others they'd seen, it was beautiful, they were in a little world of their own, it was as if there was no-one else in the room, I wish I could put the video someone took on here to show you.
Even managed to pot a fiver yesterday!! Looking forward now to the 27th when I can open my pot.
P.S. Thanks Sue for your good wishes x

A shiny £1 potted for me today as I finally have some funds in the bank! I just hope this month seems a bit shorter than the last.

jakes-mum it would be sacrilege, sacrilege, I tell you to put £2 coins in with the riff raff of coppers and stuff. I'm with you on this one!
