  • Hi all,

I'm still potting sometimes it coppers and the other day I slipped a £10 note in there. I'm debating which cause of mine to put the money too. I can't decide. It's either going to the ICE fund, car fund or yearly bills fund. Decisions.....hoping to have at least £50 in there. As I was a late starter. Fingers crossed.:j:j

Im so heartbroken its unbelievable :( someone in our house has sticky fingers, i've just found my pot top has been ripped open where someone was trying to get the coins out. Going back through the posts, 3 weeks ago that pot was so full I was struggling to get coins in there, it now has a 2cm ish gap to the top. We have ripped it open and nearly all the £1 coins and 50ps have been taken :(

No idea how long its been going on and so very hurt as it had to have been a member of the family. DH and I are really worried now as I did say before that I thought I had X number of tins, but last week when I looked I was 1 tin less than I thought so now we are worried that they have taken an entire tin of money! I just want to cry

Oh no jakes-mum, what a horrible thing to happen, and so close to the finish line when they were full pots. Even worse to think its someone in the family - have you any idea who it is? you always seem so positive and something like this can knock you for six. Thoughts are with you......

Unfortunately I know exactly who it is AlwaysHappy, and that is what makes it so much worse as they are swearing black is blue they didn't do it . . . thing is they always swear the same thing every time before they have done something wrong :( Just had to ring my mum and warn her as they often have a bit of change hanging round the house too :(

As my mum said though, its awful, (think its about £50 missing if its just out of that tin, a fair bit more if there is an entire tin missing on top) but it could have been so much worse. Draw a line under it and learn for next time, just feel a bit sick that I can't leave money in my own home without fear of it being taken. Next years tin will not be left open to temptation, my hiding place is already planned and no-one will be able to go near it without alerting me.

Oh Jakes-mum - I'm a bit lost for words and don't really know what to say. It's a horrible thing to happen and even worse when it's family and someone you trusted. I am just wondering why they would let you down and break your trust like that ?

I'm sending some virtual (((hugs))) and hope you soon feel better

jakes-mum that's awful. Sending big hugs to you.

I've swiped 65p into my tin. Not much, but I'm getting far too excited about the end of this month.
