Well done, Sylwia
Paula Begoun (the so-called Cosmetics Cop) is scathing about mineral makeup, but we know, don't we?

I will NEVER go back to 'ordinary' make up. It took me awhile and everyone's patience, to get it right! But my skin has never been so settled and look so good and I am in fifties - in case anyone wonders!
It riles me that make up for older ladies is always shown in the adverts by some female that is obviously a good few years younger!Genie

Hello, I am new
Just wanted to thank you ladies for the Elemental Beauty mineral foundation recommendation. I was googling for Sheer Cover after watching the infomercial, and found this thread and am so pleased I didn't shell out for the Sheer Cover as the EB works really well for me (the green corrector powder in particular is fantastic as I have thread veins *woe*) and the samples I got look like they will last for ages too.
So, a big yay for you :T0 -

I'm so glad. I fa5t ar5ed around for ages and bought all sorts - which I gave to my sister, including sheer cover (nothing wrong with it, but it didn't agree with me), but it suits her really well.
I eventually found that Elemental Beauty suited me, my skin has been great since - well, nearly since, I started using it. It took awhile as my skin was in flare up mode, it then settled, I think, thanks to the healing foundation from EB.
I've had great hols and been lightly dusting myself (prob how i should've been applying since word go..) with a darker shade that Nicola recommended. So, 3 or is it 4?, weeks after my hols, when the face tan fades rapidly, I am still glowing a lovely colour!

Amen sista!
I love that green stuff! Chin, nose, and spooty bits.
Oh and the spots clear up in 24 hoursusing EB foundation! :T I'm a barely when tanned or not. Even when using my self tan moisturiser.
I even have the application down to a fine art.
Oh and boots magic protect and perfect serum works with it and only needs a few mins to sink in rather than about 15 mins for normal moistursier. Got into a good routine of moisturiser at night, serum in the morning.0 -
I somehow did not book mark this site and could not find it again for an age!
I ended up shelling out for both the sheer cover and the Bare Minerals in a frantic panic before a day's filming as I was doing my make up myself. They were good but I did not have much 'practice' time. Since then I have got a bit better at it.
I also did a session with The Lift and have to say I do like it! Even if it is only a placebo effect - it works for me!
Anyway, just over week ago, I had a crack of dawn call for a morning TV show. It was arranged that I would be in make up and so went only with procollagen serum and moisturizer on face - and left rest to make-up people. Due to a mix up of no car booked rather than a double car we were running late. What saved the day was they used the BareMinerals stuff and were really quick - needless to say I looked good all day - and it was a long one! I also did not look all covered with gunk a la panstick of days gone by!
The make up artist also gave me the name of a tube of stuff which she had used on my lips after the lippie to stop any 'bleeding'. By the end of my spot I had forgotten the name and went back to retrieve coffee and ask her to write it down for me. I then managed to loose that. Does anyone here have any idea of what that might have been? It was a very small little tube - about 3 to 4 inches long.
I also followed advice here and got some of the Lily Lolo eye shadows (very fast delivery).
So a big 'thank you' to all here who were such a great help!
Now off to find a hand held rectangular mirror like they have in hairdressers for seeing the back - I had one, but it got broken in the panic to get packed for London trip! If anyone knows where on line??
And where can I buy Bio Oil on line??0 -
Mineral make-up is brilliant...love it love it love it!!!
It is very simple to apply and to gain the level of coverage you need. The hardest part is finding your shade. This is often complicated by whether you are yellow, pink or neutral based. Taken from the Lily Lilo website:
If you are struggling to decide if you have pink (cool) or yellow (warm) tones to your skin remember make-up artists and beauty experts are trained to do this and some have been advising clients for years. A great tip that really helped me get myself into the right category is to look at the inside of your wrists, take a close look at the veins you can see - if they show mainly blue you’re likely to have pink undertones and if they show mainly green you’re likely have yellow undertones.
I love Lily Lilo - find their products are great and they are reliable.
Once you have found your shade learning how to apply is easy - just do 2 things:
Firstly apply a skin primer. It helps the minerals stay on all day and preps the skin. It is not essential but I like to use one.
Secondly and most important buff for as long as possible. Get a soft brush and buff as much as possible!!!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I am not sure, but I think you like the mineral make up. Gosh - you have such a busy life! Bio oil suppliers? Don't know any but am sure someone will have some ideas.
Red....
If I over buff, my skin gets sore! Its practise - and I probably under buff due to lack of time in the mornings..Genie

Hi Jeannieblue - there are probably two reasons why your skin gets sore -
Either the minerals you are using has something in it that may be causing an irritation? and/or the brushes you are using may be a little scratchy. not sure which brand you use, but Lily Lilo and Funky Fresh are two brands that i have used and I know they are pure 100% minerals if you need to try a new range.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. One thing I learned in the application of minerals is that if you want more of a cover - you might not really need more mineral - just need to buff over that area again (and again)
This is why you always start from the outside of your face and work in. Time you git the T zone you wont have any excess mineral on your brush and it will have warmed making buffing a lot easier and smoother. And for most of us its the t zone that needs the added buff0
