I think thats the knack, Do the first layer then go do something else for 5 mins and then come back and see where you need to add more, add concealer.

It only takes me 2-3 mins to do my face (foundation, blush, mascara, lippy, bronzer and concealer) but thats in bits and pieces over perhaps 15 mins while I dry and straighten my hair.

Well having tried lots of brands over several months for me the best are Sheer Cover in Buff and Laura Mercier in Rich Vanilla and you must apply with a good brush. I wish a cheapie would have worked but it was not to be!

ooop just posted this on the wrong thread!!:o

Just want to let you know you don't have to sign the subscription with Sheer Cover

After they give you the spiel about the 90 days thing you just say, can I say no and only order as a one off - they will say yes every time

I am still waiting for mine to arrive but they will defo do it as a one time only purchase if you insist - you can also buy the individual pots and again ask for it as a one time only purchase

Also I spent ages looking for a kabuki brush and finally found one from crown brushes - apparently (according to the american reviews i read) they are as good as MAC brushes but alot cheaper and very well known in the states

www.crownbrush.co.uk i think? And I went for the Italian |Badger as that's the one they get most positive feedback about £8.99. The only downside is that there is a minimum spend of £15 so its better to partner up with someone if you only want the kabuki

Just cannot wait for the sheer cover to arrive to try!

Though I am defo going to look at the other recs from here

Just read the entire thread after watching Sheer cover ad this morning.

Not sure what one I'm going to try first, probably a trip to good old boots for a toughy feely try first.

I started to put my liquid foundation on with a big fluffy brush ages ago as I found it gave me a much nicer look, so switching to mineral powder seems quite natural to me. I get a lot of spots (white heads, blackheads red heads) so I try to only wear foundation when I need too as it just brings me out in more spots, I'm 27, thought I had been lucky in my teens by not getting spots.

Thanks everyone for your opinions and reccomendations!!!

High street stuff is not necessarily pure mineral - they put other stuff in too, pure minerals are so light that they won't aggravate. I found that Sheer cover didn't suit me but it suits my sister...

Try Elemental Beauty - I love it, I use the healing foundation. You can email or call Nicola, she is very helpful.

There is a mineral make up thread around too somewhere..........

And get a good kabuki brush

I bought the EB radiance mineral finishing powder for my hols on Sunday:D

Can't get with the whole powder only thing, but love EB's mineral finishing powder.

If anyone is looking for a great loose powder to go over foundation for the summer, THIS IS IT.

I was going to have a tochy-feely, not nesseseraly going to buy it.

I had been looking at lolo lily or lily lolo... and magnolia minerals from ebay. Will look for elemental beauty, thanks.

Plus, it's a good excuse to go into town :rotfl:

    EDIT

I need a new excuse to go into town, just ordered 3 samples from EB (they have lovely jars and my girly gene assered itself!)

I went into town and spent £200 with DH on clothes for us :rotfl:

My EB packet arrived yesterday and oh boy, girly gene was jumping with joy! 3 tiny vials of powder in a pretty pink organza baggy with a dried mini rose bud. I felt like an A-lister getting her 'weight loss aid', only it was make up instead.

Knew straight away what one is the perfect match, the darker one I picked. The other two will be passed to my friend who is a shade lighter than me, for her to try.

Feels and looks great, and really suprised as I had a few spots yesterday when I tried it out. Today they have almost vanished! One was a white head that had bled, the other were just little red bumps. Usually I have to leave them 3-4 days 'naked' for them to go. Very Impressed.

I will be needing a concealer for under my eyes though, so going to have a try at what EB have. May call them for some advice first.
