You are buying a brush for mineral make up - not face powder or blusher, you need a brush to do that job. Mineral foundation brushes are really tightly packed brushes, dome shaped to work in the minerals. Blusher brushes and powder brushes are just too loose to use, you wont get the buffering and therefore the coverage Natural hair is the way to go as well as long as you don't have allergies0 -
thanks will have a looksie on ebay then0

I got the under eye brightner & I like it.
I got the concealer & I think its pretty good, not that I have anything to conceal (at the moment:rotfl: ).
I got a highlighter, thats nice.
I got three mineral foundation testers & I like haven't tried one yet, TBH I'm not really into the whole powder only thing.
& lastly I got three mineral finishing powers, only tried matt (not dewy & whatever the other one is) & I love it, will def buy a large one.0 -

Where've you been????
I'm doing real well - but.......... its settling, if not careful, and I'm often not, in my 'tram lines'. Now I could've sworn that there was something somewhere on one of the threads about the mineral do dah stuff settling in ones 'character crevasses'. Eventually - I have trawled thru both Mineral make up thread and Sheer Cover thread to find - nothing. BUT - am wondering if I got lines and pores mixed up. If so.........
How can one avoid filling ones lines........ so that they stand out.......... or how can one camaflouge (spelling:o ) ones lines.Genie

Re settling in lines and pores (minerals can settle in both), that's another tiresome search for you, finding the brand that doesn't do it. That's why I think MMU is for those of us who simply cannot wear liquid/cream foundations - we're prepared to spend loads of time and some money finding exactly the right MMU brand, or to put up with the settling, grateful merely to look reasonably normal
Some people advise putting a layer of Mineral Veil (or equivalent) on first, but that surely defeats the object because it contains cornstarch (US for cornflour) or other 'living' stuff, hence it can nourish bacteria. That's my theory, but don't forget I'm just a girl (well, I was once, still am inside). Having said that, what about all the 'living' stuff in the moisturiser sitting directly on one's skin? Oh it's all too much
With liquidy stuff, if my face is flaring up it leaves bare patches for the red to glow thru. I loathe getting it under my finger nails, and if I use a brush (I spent a tenner on a 'good' foundation brush) it leaves bristle marks.
Don't forget that to appreciate your MMU you need to have a good look at your bare face, apply your foundation, blush etc, then wait half an hour or an hour even, and have another look at yourself and envisage the before and after. Don't look too closely, you may be being hyper-critical.
And don't forget to let your moisturiser dry before embarking on the big cover-up
As to 'where have you been?', my usual 'beauty' forum is Femail, I just come here in response to post alerts on a couple of threads, I'd never find them if I came in by the front door - this is a big and complex forum!

I put a chicken in the oven last night on 200C + fan and forgot all about it, and the kitchen door was closed so the smoke alarm didn't go off, and my eyes nearly burnt to a crisp cos I'd cleaned the oven just before and hadn't rinsed it well enough... and that's just the most recent debacle  )

In that case.......... I will put up with it settling in my lines, cos this EB is the best I've used, beats the liquid stuff any day. My skin has calmed alot - shame about my nerves.........
Need a holiday more than ever - the stress of trying to find anywhere that suits everyone is doing my head in - found two villas that suited us all but by the time we went to book it - yep, already booked.:o
I did salad stuff today. Not chicken tho..
If we do get to go on hols (looking unlikely) - guess I would need a darker shade of foundation ...Genie
