This thread helped me so I'll add my bit now. Middle-aged, fair slightly sensitive normal skin with an oily t-zone, broken veins and blotchiness. I have been on a life-long quest to find the perfect foundation as make-up usually slides off my skin within a couple of hours.

I've been using my Lily Lolo samples for two days and I am really pleased. :j I ordered two colours which I have mixed for the perfect match, also an oil absorbing finishing powder. My skin did feel a bit tight just after application but soon settled down but I'm really pleased so far with the staying power of this make-up. I don't think under the harsh light of day, it really disguises my open pores and wrinkles but hey, I wasn't expecting miracles and it certainly doesn't make them look any worse.

I also ordered an eye shadow, the colour of which I don't really like, and at £4.99 was a bit of an expensive mistake. So if anyone knows of any company that does eye shadow samples, I'd be grateful.

Still waiting for my Elemental Beauty samples so will report back when I've used them.

    Regards to all

I did look on their site but couldn't see any but maybe I'm being a bit thick. But I guess I could email them and see how good their customer service is!

    Thanks for letting me know.

    Its your method :)

Lily lolo samples come in wee jars that are too small to work with, you need to find a small dish - I use a round tin lid but you could use one of those indiviual pudding basins (well washed) or even a margarine tub lid or one of those dishes you rest spoons on - anything

Tip a tiny tiny amount onto your dish - no more then a pea size amount - perhaps less (less is more when it comes to minerals) Now swirl your brush into the minerals till they are all caught up in the brush and not just sat on the top, then tap off any excess.

Now the fun part. Make sure your face is clean and dry and moisturiser is well absorbed. Now starting from the outer edges of face (i usually start around my ear area) start buffing your face with the brush, circular movements all around working in towards your nose as the minerals warm up. Keep on working the minerals. I usually end up looking stupid pulling daft faces and puffing out my cheeks to get an even coverage. Now the more you buff the better the coverage - not the more minerals.

Now when you think you have covered every area of your face, finish with a few downward strokes to get any facial hair lie flat again and any loose brush hairs off the face, and go dry your hair or brush your teeth or whatever. You need to leave the minerals for a short while so as to be able to see if you need to add more. If you do need to add more - tiny amounts only. You have used too much if you are getting a caked look or your fine lines and wrinkles are more pronounced.

You do need to practice. Those jars of lily lolo will last a good few weeks if using correctly. I find I do need to put my foundation on and then go dry my hair to give time for the minerals to "cure" and show their true coverage before I go ahead and touch up with concealer and add blush, you may find the same or you may just get a natural feel for what you need

    Hope that helps
