    More like you've been tango'd :)

Did you see me post about Nizarol cream? I got some of the doc this week after a mega eruption. Its cleared my face very fast - 3 days - but its soooooooooooo drying :( Im slathering on the moisturiser like its going out of fashion but my poor forehead is suffering still. What with also using the oil cleanse method, my face is resembling an oil slick :))

You've made me remember that line in Pretty Woman, when she tries to eat the snails - "Slippery little sucker"...........

Sorry if that is inappropriate, but us spotty, blotchy, itchy, scratchy folk have to develop a strong sense of humour, albeit a tad warped.

(I'm scratching as I type - its my arms today - yesterday it was my shins and day before that it was my ankles. Seen my new thread? Its not doing well!! He he but then, it is a bit weird - but true.)

:hello: Hi, back from holiday and reporting back on semi success with mineral make up :j

No more face a la bag of flour thanks to suki and the excellent advice.

I did try the lily lolo but it seemed to make my face very tight. I tried the new maybelline one and its quite nice, blusher is lovely and makes me look quite healthy. My pale skin normally looks like morticia from the adams family lol

Now if i can plsssssssss just ask a little more advice. For extra coverage is it better to add another layer, or how do i use the concealer? idiot here remember, i used a little blusher brush and i had a very odd coloured face.............:o

Glad to hear you are having some success. Keep practising and it gets easier I promise.

For extra coverage - buff more. Its rare that you need to add more mineral, you just need to buff a bit longer. This is why my preference has always been to do my foundation, then dry my hair so as the minerals have time to work and I can see where I need to add more or just buff some more.

I use the lily lolo concealer brush http://www.lilylolo.co.uk/lily-product2.php?cat=7

Just dip the tip into the concealer, work into the brush, tap off excess and dab on. Quite often I dont need concealer I just use the foundation its self.

Have you had a look at the foundation colours at http://www.elementalbeauty.co.uk/
The samples there are very generous, (lasting me weeks) and people who found the lily lolo too drying are having more luck this brand

Third that. I really like the EB face powder.

I like good old fashioned foundation, but love the powder, under eye brightner & concealer.

beginning to think that MMU is not for me Im trying Elemental beauty foundation at present and i cant seem to get the coverage right -and the shade- even tho' i put on thin layers to build it up to get more coverage and then buff for ages it still doesnt look right , it looks a bit metallic on my cheeks and doesnt cover pores/ fine lines/ broken capillaries on my cheeks etc, perhaps it suits younger women better  so thinking of giving up and going back to my liquid foundations at least i always get a smooth flawless finish with that and it does cover any imperfections etc shame really coz I really liked the idea of it

I will keep practising :) So hard to buff the minerals on, the more i buff i feel i'm rubbing off

Treated myself to a kabuki brush which makes it much easier though. Maybe its me but the powder still makes me sneeze lol

Oh no - I'm ancient - I think one can 'buff' too much. I've got the healing foundation. Recommend you call EB, I've heard (via the threads) that the woman there, Nicola I believe, is very helpful. Do you have a good kabuki brush? First one I had was cr*p. One I got from EB suits me.

Please read thru this thread and mineral make up thread - loads of advice. I'm loving it as it covers as well and better than 'normal' make up on my very trouble some skin. Covers my broken veins well - has more of a challenge over my ezcema and spots! :o

Hi jeannieblue tbh i didnt think you could buff MMU too much  the samples i got from Elemental beauty was the soft focus foundation not the healing one as i like a dewy finish and thought the healing type might be too matte for me , yes Nicola has been very helpful shes sending me some more samples to try and get the right shade shes suggested i mix a couple together say 50/50% til' i find the exact shade but again ive never had a problem before with liquid foundation in getting my shade right I havent got bad skin i dont suffer with breakouts havent got sensitive skin etc just plain old general ageing i suppose lol so cant understand why i dont seem to get on with MMU i have sent for some samples from coloursofjoba to see if i suit that better so will have to wait and see fingers x that suits me

PS think ive read everything there is on the internet on MMU including on MSE LOL oh and ive bought a natural hair kabuki brusf off ebay so dont think its the brush

I don't think I can really judge that well - I've had/have such bad skin lately - but I find that the MMU is not aggravating it - you can see the awful blemishes thru it - but the difference of the before and after..........!!

I find I just swish and buff a tad and then go off for awhile, breakfast, eye make and then go back and do similar again. I'll never look perfect, but I look a million times better than I do with so called 'normal' make up. I'm sure I'm not doing it right, but what I have noticed, is that during the week when I don't have much time and gotta get to work - I do a better job of it! At weekends, when I have the time, I f*rt ar5e around and it never seems to go on right!

I've nearly/almost sort of (at long last) booked a holiday - first one in a good few years and know (its not pc) that my skin will heal and settle once it gets some sun! I then look forward to seeing how much better the MMU looks on a better skin! Guess will have to get some darker shades!

I'm not really the best one to advise - as I'm a learner too. I also wonder if I could look great, like they do in the adverts, if I had a little air brushing too :D :rotfl: :rotfl:
