Returning a laptop to Very! How can it be so hard?!

Same problem on this thread:

The OP eventually received his money back, but only by making a section 75 claim against the credit card he used to make the purchase.
Hopefully someone on here knows how the financing is arranged with Very for 'buy now, pay later' and therefore whether the sale could be cancelled from the financing side.
If I'm being dumb just tell me, but be gentle, I've had enough of being called "Silly Mummy" today
It can't be section 75'd. The only recourse is either Small Claims or Financial Ombudsman.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
So if they don't get it sorted with Shop Direct - which is likely - then it is the Financial Ombudsman or Small Claims.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0

Are you still saying the Distance Selling Regulations don't apply here? As I said earlier under the DSRs the right to cancel is not determined by the ability of the seller to resell the item as new.0 -
The OP hasn't paid anything yet so if the laptop is returned any potential action is up to Very to take?0

Personally I don't believe they are entitled to a full refund under DSR's and it would be upto the Judge's interpretation. He may rule in their favour and he may not. However in order to find out they'd need to issue proceedings.
As for the FOS. This may be a way forward without having to pay to go to court - the option is still open though - but this too can take months and months.
I've just had one PPI case with FOS for 4 years - yes 4 years.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

Not what you said originally to the OP ie 'It's yours now'.0
