Just applied direct on line for the 5 year fixed at 4.29%...AIP has been referred to a underwriter- hoping its just because of our address change and nothing else! Annoying we have to wait 3 days for an answer though.0 -
Quick update.. I have been informed my valuation was done on the 10th July, and there is up to a 2 week wait for a decision/mortgage offer.0

How long did it take for you to get from application stage to valuation?
And I take you know the results of the valuation already?
We have had to apply for the PO mortgage after our other mortgage offer came in too low on the valuation. Been over 2 months since we put our offer in and slightly concerned that any more hold ups could cost us the house!0 -

From initial full application to valuation being completed took 2 weeks exactly. In terms of the valuation result they wont tell mecould be 2 weeks from now until I get an offer.
Who was the mortgage company you had originally dealt with to get your previous valuation? Hope things move fast for you.
Hope this helps to...
24th June: Mortgage in Principle
26th June: Full Application
8th July: Text saying application assessed
8th July: Text saying valuation instructed
9th July: Text saying valuation appointment made
10th July: Valuation completed
10th July: Received a letter through the post requesting pay slips and to sign a letter for money laundering etc. (The letter of the document was actually dated 8th July but I didn’t receive it until 10th July)
11th July: Sent back payslips
14th July: Text saying documents outstanding documents needed - payslips (Already sent them back on 11th!)
15th July: Post Office called to say they had received the payslips and there was up to a 2 week wait until I would receive the mortgage offer/decision etc.0 -
Surely not another two weeks, lk92k? That's rediculous.
No update from me since those texts on Friday. I am hopeful for something having arrived through the post today.0 -

Hi,
I've been reading the tread and by the look of it our mortgage went really smoothly. We are FTB.
9/6 popped to PO to see mortgage advisor, discussed products and booked appointment for 12/6
12/6 full application submitted at the PO branch, valuation fee paid, text received : application received
13/6 text: mortgage valuation instructed also another phone call (missed) and text : application assessed - require payslips
16/6 letter asking for payslips received
18/6 payslips sent; txt: valuation booked and another text regarding the outstanding documents (payslips)
20/6, 23/6, 25/6 contacted EA to ask about date of valuation- no knowledge
25/6 text: mortgage offered :j
26/6 received offer in post, contacted EA again to check if valuation has happen on 24/6, confirmation that it has.
7/7 received email- homebuyer report
8/7 sent back the signed offer and
10/7 text: documentation received: thanks for returning signed mortgage documentation. We will be in touch if anything else is needed. Bank of Ireland group :j
Just waiting to exchange.... Chased our solicitor.... Apparently the sellers were looking for a quick sale...0 -
I'm glad you're experience has been positive Haduch. I think it may be a case of that the Post Office rate is quite possibly the best on the market at present for 5yr fixed deal and have seen a big influx in applications - especially seeing as the fee is not payable until completion AND the choice to add it to the mortgage.
Heard nothing today... My wait continues!Geek by Nature.. Geek by Profession!
