I just got sale agreed today and I have just got an AIP by applying online through the post office website.
What happens next - should I continue on? Will I have to pay anything upfront (survey fees) - do I need to wait and discuss anything with the house vendors I am buying? What if they pull out?0 -
BingoBangoBongo:
You will need to pay upfront valuation fees depending on the service you choose.
The fees for the mortgage (if applicable) can be added to the mortgage if you wish.Geek by Nature.. Geek by Profession!

Sent documents back 15th, arrived Wednesday 16th.
Friday 18th, received letter that PO were obtaining a reference from new job employer.
Today (Monday 21st July 2014) - Rang to ask if we are supposed to obtain the reference or if they are doing it (wasn't clear). They are doing it apparently.
So seems the backlog with the post isn't quite accurate as our documents were looked at, at least initially, within 2 days.
Valuation (Countrywide) scheduled for 31st July.
So trickling along. (Full app submitted 27th June)0 -

Good stuff hope mine starts to make progress. Do they normally ask for employer references for everyone ?0 -
I've been in my role 9 months and they asked for an employer reference too. It confirms salary, length of service and whether you're at any known risk of redundancy (which I'm not).
Heard nothing yesterday.. Hopefully today? Our seller is getting jittery.Geek by Nature.. Geek by Profession!
