From initial full application to valuation being completed took 2 weeks exactly. In terms of the valuation result they wont tell me :( could be 2 weeks from now until I get an offer.

Who was the mortgage company you had originally dealt with to get your previous valuation? Hope things move fast for you.

    Hope this helps to...

    24th June: Mortgage in Principle
    26th June: Full Application
8th July: Text saying application assessed
8th July: Text saying valuation instructed
9th July: Text saying valuation appointment made
    10th July: Valuation completed
10th July: Received a letter through the post requesting pay slips and to sign a letter for money laundering etc. (The letter of the document was actually dated 8th July but I didn’t receive it until 10th July)
    11th July: Sent back payslips
14th July: Text saying documents outstanding documents needed - payslips (Already sent them back on 11th!)
15th July: Post Office called to say they had received the payslips and there was up to a 2 week wait until I would receive the mortgage offer/decision etc.

    Hi,

We orignally applied through Accord Mortgages, but the PO one i sa much better rate so am happy to change, just hope the re-valuation goes our way!

Surprised you have to wait 2 weeks just to know if they valued the property at the right price! With Accord we found out 2 days after the valuation was done! Just hope our seller stays patient.

    Hi,
I've been reading the tread and by the look of it our mortgage went really smoothly. We are FTB.
9/6 popped to PO to see mortgage advisor, discussed products and booked appointment for 12/6
12/6 full application submitted at the PO branch, valuation fee paid, text received : application received
13/6 text: mortgage valuation instructed also another phone call (missed) and text : application assessed - require payslips
16/6 letter asking for payslips received
18/6 payslips sent; txt: valuation booked and another text regarding the outstanding documents (payslips)
20/6, 23/6, 25/6 contacted EA to ask about date of valuation- no knowledge
    25/6 text: mortgage offered :j
26/6 received offer in post, contacted EA again to check if valuation has happen on 24/6, confirmation that it has.
    7/7 received email- homebuyer report
8/7 sent back the signed offer and
10/7 text: documentation received: thanks for returning signed mortgage documentation. We will be in touch if anything else is needed. Bank of Ireland group :j

Just waiting to exchange.... Chased our solicitor.... Apparently the sellers were looking for a quick sale...

So 14 calendar days from full application to offer received, that seems to fit well with my time scale so far.

Do the PO give out the details of who the surveyor is on request, does anyone know?

Our EA is getting jittery that no one has been in contact (instruction text received last friday)

If that's the case.. They are 7 days behind with mine, as I'm now at 21 days and counting!

Apparently our surveyor is Countrywide, but no date yet.
Also, the agent told me that the PO (BoI) are currently processing post for the 7th.

    So 7th -> 17th = 9 days behind?

Got a call from Countrywide saying they're sending me a link to T&Cs for the valuation. So again, a little progress which is nice.

Post Office Mortgages is just a marketing brand. The mortgage is underwritten, funded and administered by Bank Of Ireland.

Just to give other people who might be waiting my timeline.
    • I applied online on 1/7/14 and paid the valuation fees there and then
    • On 3/7/14 I got a text saying my application had been received
    • On 15/7/14 I got a call from the underwriter checking a few things (I am sometimes Miss and sometimes Dr)
    • Later on 15/7/14 I got two texts saying that the documentation would be sent out and that the valuation had been isntructed
    • On 16/7/14 I got a call to arrange the valuation.
    • On 17/7/14 I got the request for documentation (signed declaration and 3 months pay slips)
    • The valuation will be done today.

    Spoke to PO/BOI again just.
They are still working on items from the 7th.

They have confirmed that my application is WAITING for an underwriter. However, this is the kicker.. seeing as my partners Money Laundering form and employer reference didn't arrive til 8th and 9th, they cannot guarantee that the underwriter will pay attention to them UNTIL they are processing items from the 8th/9th..

I'm now hoping that the underwriter will use common sense and look to see that all the items have arrived!
