    Yea.. anxious time for us.
We have to give notice on our rented Apartment if we're to move when completion happens, otherwise we'll be incurring additonal month(s) rent AND paying a mortgage! PO/BoI need to step it up a notch!

We submitted our full app on the 23rd and paid our homebuyer fee at the same time.

Had the valuation done on the 8th, having already supplied my wage slips and usual required info.
Contacted them today and its still waiting to be assessed.

That is a long wait! Did your application definitely reach the PO on the 23rd or are you using a broker? Ours was received on the 7th but that was after it going via our broker and the credit check had already been carried out.

We applied directly with the PO Online.
The way they are justifying it is the 7 working day backlog they currently have.

We applied on 23rd. Finally got round to it and sent us the necessary paperwork on the 3rd. (10 days, 8 working days).
We replied on the 4th via Special Delivery, which they would have gotten on the 7th. Which today makes 6th working day. Hopeful of a response tomorrow/weds!!

How weird! Have you asked for an update? Our broker rang the PO for us today and they were told that our application will be assessed in two days.

Actually, was that before or after the credit check?

Well.. here's where it gets interesting. We had the AIP done and dusted on 20th June and moved onto the full application on 23rd June.

I'm a regular stalker of my credit report and I've got the missus at it too and we've not seen any searches, so it does make us wonder.

And to answer your first post... I rang Friday and Today... they keep confirming that they have everything they need (wage slips, anti-money laundering regs etc).. its just waiting to be assessed.

Hmmm interesting, we've gone through a broker so it's hard to compare directly. We didn't get an AIP with the PO, we had a L&C AIP, we then chose our lender and the credit check done and application accepted on the same day. It was then another week before our full application and documents reached the PO though.

I'll keep updating on here if/when we hear anything new.

L&C did everything they could to dissuade us from PO, to a higher rate (for no particular reason).
So we ditched L&C and went direct.

  • People's experiences with L&C seem to vary widely, ours has been great, they saved us a huge amount of time finding a lender who doesn't care about my fixed term contract. Sorry you didn't have the same experience.
