  • We got back from our work trip to find that the survey and valuation were done on the 22nd July which was a nice surprise. We only found out because we received a copy of the report, no-one told us it had been instructed.

Husband's contract is with the PO now so hopefully we're almost there with the mortgage offer.
  • Hello!

It's my first time on here and thought I'd join in. We're FTBs and completed and submitted our application on 19th July (which was a Saturday) with PO.

When we logged on to check progress it showed up as submitted on Monday 21st which isn't a surprise. I phoned today to check on progress and the guy on the phone said it was showing up as submitted on 22nd July. Anyhow, he told me that they are currently working on applications that were submitted on 22nd so we should hear back before the weekend which documentation we need to submit to carry the application forward.

Hopefully this might be helpful to those awaiting a response.

Thought I'd join in because I am FED UP!
We submitted our full application on 26th June, which us confirmed on the tracker. Hadn't heard anything by 3rd July so we phoned them and were told they were processing applications received on 25th June and that ours were received on 28th (2 days later than it says on the tracker). Eventually received a phone call on 8th July to request some documents from us (which we returned immediately) and to tell us valuation had been instructed. Valuation and homebuyers survey report came through to us on 15th July...and that's the latest thing we've heard!!
Phoned them last Friday, told us they were processing valuations received on 8th July and ours was received 11th. Phoned them again yesterday and they're up to 10th so SURELY we'll hear something tomorrow!

It's really annoying as we're not in a chain and really want to move quickly, but this is all that's holding things up!! Would not recommend post office or bank of Ireland to anyone!

We're the same submitted on the 4 July valuation done on the 25th and received that day too, were in a chain too and were the ones holding the whole thing up, not looking like we're going to be exchanging and completing for the end of August :-(

Last three month's payslips for both of us, and 3 months of bank statements just from my partner.

That's what they asked for from us too.

[Full application 27th June, delay delay, Docs sent ~17th, Valuation yesterday-31st July].

PO tried to get in contact yesterday on my home phone but wouldn't speak to my wife and didn't ring my mobile.
Just rang them this morning to see what its about and apparently it was just to let me know that the valuation had been received.

The operator couldn't tell me the result of the valuation.

She confirmed that they've got everything they needed from us.

I asked timelines and she said they're currently working on documentation recieved on the 10th. So perhaps a week.
Then she said that because an employment reference and the valuation came after that it could be 3 weeks. (!!!)

So, just the [never-ending] waiting game now.
  • Oh dear, so the PO now have our further documents (though I still don't understand why they need a contract for a job that is being left in a month) and L&C have advised that it will be at least another 10 working days now before our offer is issued. I could weep with frustration. I guess this is what people are talking about when they say you go to the back of the underwriting queue with every new piece of information requested.

I think it's fair to say that we're not going to be in for September now so we need to start thinking about how to minimise the additional costs this will incur.
