    Good morning.

Today should be SFD number 10 and I should manage my exercise again. Will just do some cleaning in the house today as itll bt pouring down all day today and look at cottages for our "honeymoon"up north.

I should really have a look at my survey accounts and should start them again to collect amaz0n vouchers for Christmas.

    Have a nice day

  • Checking in - very spendy day yesterday (I had to tax and fuel my car, plus buy two birthday presents) but should have a SFD today and I have meal planned for the rest of the week, so hopefully I should only need to do a small shop at the weekend to last me until I go away next friday. Need to get another exercise session in as well, although that may have to be tomorrow.

    Morning all

I managed another SFD yesterday but I need liquid gold so no SFD today. I pottered in the garden yesterday so I'm counting that as exercise. I had hoped to go for a run but knee wasn't up for it.

Today is the first day back in work after the bank holiday so I guess it is going to be pretty quiet.

Tiptoes - well done on broaching the present subject.

MagicCat - your MIL sounds like an attention seeker, if everyone takes the attention away she will get bored quickly and maybe grow up.

Fmess - OMG. What is going on with people and their weddings. I would tell them I had no money and give them a £10 Debenhams voucher just for the sheer hell of it.

Thrifty - your wedding invites and favours look fabulous. Again I think your idea for the charity donations is superb, more people should take a leaf out of your book instead of being greedy.

Today will be a SFD, we are going to a BBQ this evening it is being put on by my DS's cubs group and we just pay his normal £2 subs and all 4 of us will be fed, I don't count the £2 as a spend as kids activities are too regular, I budget for them but if I counted them I would never have any non spendy days.

Stewby - This is the advice I give my 10 year old DD when she has to stand in front of people and speak, pretend you are your favourite actor playing a part and step outside of yourself and really go for it just like they do when they act. She did this when she did a two ronnies comedy sketch at a talent show and she nailed it and came first. Good Luck.

Spend day on Monday all for the sake of loo roll. Last time I bought it, a twelve pack, I was kind of hoping that it would be the last lot I had to buy living here. Was a little sad and frustrated that that didn't hold true.

Checked out the bargains in tescimos and came away with 18 rolls of andrex. More than I wanted, but, price wise it was silly to pass it up. Got a few other bits that I needed there, milk and juice but the rest is being bought today, because I have to park in a sainsbos anyways.

Me and the OH are planning a little trip to France in August. Only one night, just for a little mini break and some time away together. Am using tescimo vouchers for the tunnel and am happily planning picnic/travel food from now until then. May be a little bit excited already. We are going to go to Dunkirk to see the sights and find a cheap travelodge type equivalent there, but will book before we go to try and get some kind of a discount.

    Hello all,

Thrifty - pics were beautiful, you are v talented!

applemuncher - that did make me laugh, I would LOVE to put her on the nauty step, but sadly can't see it happening! Dolly84 - I agree, it's all about attention for her, I keep saying to OH they need to stop running after her when she does something like this and maybe she'll change if her behaviourisn't getting her what she wants.

Tiptoes - well done on the non-present buying and not spending while away! It is so hard - I'm much better at saying no to myself than when I feel I should be spending on someone else.

Fmess - I always ffeel really uncomfortable about giving money for wedding gifts too, more and more people seem to ask for it though.

Stewby - hugs for training, it's a really hard thing to do, I'm sure it didn't come accross as badly as you thought though.

Spend day for me yesterday as needed groceries and petrol, but should be SFDs today and tomorrow, and hopefully Friday.

    Have a good Wednesday all.

Thanks guys for all the reassurance about not getting a present, I still feel bad about it! But it did cost us a lot to get there to the party, and they are much better off than us. It's been such an expensive month what with having to buy the car, and it's my mum's birthday too, which is the first without my dad so I need to spoil her a bit, as well as pay for a meal when we go out as a family when we have dad's plaque put up at the crematorium, so it's just been a case of something having to give really.

Fmess - how cheeky about the bank account for money donations for the wedding!! DH and I were just talking about that and would refuse on principle I think. We did the same as Thrifty and said no presents, but if people wanted to donate to a charity for us they were more than welcome. We set up a just giving page. Interestingly, not as many people did donate as I thought would! And a lot of people chose to ignore our request and give us presents (some of which were lovely and personal and some of which we really didn't want!!). It was strange and really surprised me about how people responded to our request. I have to say, asking for money into your bank seems so cheeky. It's such a minefield and some people lose all perspective at weddings it seems.

Well, done a swim today but can't claim a sfd. The soup I had planned for lunch was off so had a morries sandwich instead.

Off to read my book on the sofa now for an hour then early night for me.

    night all x
