SFD today and off to bed now. Baba was up at 6 and only slept less than two hours all day. She finally crashed out, fingers crossed.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Hello all!
Thrifty - your invitations are beautiful. Well done you!
Stewby - I am sure you weren't as bad as you thought, and people are very forgiving, so likely you only butchered yourself and no-one was worried about it in the slightest!!
Tiptoes - Fab news on the no-spend and well done you! As for your nephew, too right you shouldn't buy anything! Your bother should understand and if he has a grain of sense in his head, not buy anything either! I didn't buy Jellytot a single thing for her first Xmas or birthday. The 2nd Xmas I got a £84.99 present for £24.99 thanks to survey vouchers etc. And this birthday just gone I bought a little bit more but still only spent £50. They don't understand or know the difference. If all you're worried about is their parents opinion then tell them, just as I did all of my family, that you're struggling with money and would rather not put yourself into debt to fund something out of your reach. My family are excellent now!
Applemuncher - there were 4 sausages left out of 20. I had 3, MIL had 2, Him had 4, Jellytot had 2, FIL a modest 5. There was enough mashed potato covered in cheese to feed the 5000, and I did tonnes of broccoli and red onion gravy so all in all people had giant portions and not many sausages. My lunch was fabulous. There were so many people there (weird for a lunchtime) that I couldn't sneak any into food bags. But I ate at 1:30 and I finally started to get hungry again at 20 to 10! I ate leftover banoffee pie for my 'tea' hahaha.
MagicCat - Your MIL sounds delightful. Why is there always one crazy in every family? I have no patience for people like that. I can't hold my tongue. There is a reason Him's Nan no longer speaks to us as of Jellys first xmas. Miserable old bat. Who enjoys living like that?!
SFD today, also an exercise day and 20 minutes of TV watched with dinner as Him is here tonight and cannot put food in his mouth without a television. *eyeroll* - tomorrow and Friday should also be SFD as I have enough of all the basics and plenty of tonights dinner left over to feed us tomorrow night. Friday night, Him is leaving before dinner to go home/to a poker night so I only have myself and Jellytot to feed. I feel scrambled eggs and beans on toast coming on!
Landlord is having me a new oven delivered tomorrow. So excited honestly! An oven with a light inside and a non-toxic grill! It won't get fitted til my parents are down at the weekend!
Off to tinker with my budget. Have set YNAB agog with the fact that my credit card owes me money. It can't compute! So now it tells me I owe myself the amount that is credit on the credit card, but marks it out as a debt for August... LOL. :rotfl:
Night all!

Credit cards that owe you money - a new concept on me!!
Sounds good though lilt.
Good luck for more sleep tonight thrifty.
There is always something I miss off my shopping too spendy, today and tomorrow will not be SFD as a result of a last minute change of plan - was going out for a prebooked dinner tomorrow but have managed to persuade my friend to come here for dinner so need a couple of things.
Great advice Dolly, stewby your training will have been better than you thinkIt is difficult, well done!

Hopefully if you can rein in the spending, you will actually save money on what you budgeted for the night out gnome?! Will it pop you over your food budget for the month? You've lots of misc money left over
And yes, credit card. Not as glamorous as it sounds. I pay it off in full each statement by DD. I bought a tablet on it in Feb. Decided by May that I didn't want to keep it as it was obviously broken, kept turning off every time I briefly touched the back. Took it back and they couldn't replace, so I ended up with £207 credit on my card.

The next two trips away are to watch the football. We go away a lot following Wales but this will be the last one until ALL debt has gone!! Have already paid for them and going away with another couple so not going to cancel. I haven't given much thought to when my debt free date should be. I will have a think about a realistic date. My aim was to get it all paid off ASAP but setting a date is a good idea0

Oh god that is depressing. If I pay off £400 a month it will still take me 27 months to pay off all my debt
so my debt free date will not be until October 2016

Evening all...
My £1 a day plan didn't last long - and decided to do a shop with the money I had left... Even emptied my 1p jar lol... luckily the guy in the store was very understanding
So - have enough food to see me through and a few nice things like wraps to make my lunches a little more exciting. Batch cooked up some lentil curry so have another 2 meals on standby in the freezer.
I cancelled what social engagements I had - so all I have to buy now is fuel and have 1/4 tank and £20 to last me for a week. No problemo!!!
I've really enjoyed this month - and I have regained a feeling of being back in control of my spending...
Have a great night and will check in tomorrow x

That makes sense! I will save money I am trying to work out what I need to buy and think i've come up with a recipe I have all the ingredients for. I will go over my food budget anyway as I will run out of fresh fruit and veg and I will not go without these when I have money I can use will see what nectar points I haveI think I can reallocate the illegal birthday present shopping into the misc category too and be within that budget...

Thanks for all the reassurance. I am hoping it will be easier and better teaching my colleagues than complete strangers.
Spend-free day today so that makes seven. Doing pretty poorly this month.
:undecided
Diet started today and although I had a treat (scone and cup of tea), we then went walking for an hour to burn those extra calories back off.
Hope everyone is doing okay today.
