thrifty just goes to show how poorly she was feeling eh. Babies and animals, they only really have one way of telling us what is wrong and we have to be very in tune with them. Lucky you caught it quite quickly.

Right, it is confirmed. SFD #6 in this house!! :A aren't I good? ;) we had HM chicken korma. Very MSE, we used 1 chicken breast for 2 people, plus a courgette and a red onion to bulk it out a bit. Also remembered there was 1 naan left from my exploits with poached eggs on naan the other day so made the most of that too!!

Him has been told in no uncertain terms not to allow me a take away until the meat has been cleared from the fridge & freezer. 20 thick butchers sausages, 12 thick cut slices of bacon, 3 southern fried chicken steaks, 6 large chicken breasts, a pack of prawns, 750g of mince... Takeaway in a month then! A lot of this has been absolute bargainous meat so not a dangerous amount spent, and I have been very clever with my cooking/portions, which my waistline thanks me for!

I've been in bed since 8pm. Turning off the light now. So tired for some reason. Night peeps!!

    Hi All,

Sorry missed a check in or 2 but been a little hectic at the moment.

Today was a SFD. Monday and Tuesday were not :( still on target though so not feeling too bad.

Confession time, my work foot wear finally bit the dust so had to be replaced. 2 pairs of boots (I always wear trousers to work) for the grand total of £32. Both half price or less so really happy with this.

Work has been a little unsettled lately but I now feel much more relaxed as I have recently had it confirmed that I can opt for redundancy if I want to. Need to spend a little time to think about the options but I think I know what my answer will be. Just need to check that everything stacks up before I commit to anything.

I will update my totals tomorrow.

    Night all

    Chez x

Today I am grateful for my lovely neighbour who looks after dd so much for me, for staple guns, for a massive 1365 dot-to-dot that kept my y9s and y10s quiet, for the wind, for having the opportunity to put myself forward for some extra work.

Another NSD claimed here. And the chemist had the final part of dd's prescription in.

No crafting done, but have researched metro costs for me and dd's hols in just 10 sleeps. So I can factor that into the week's spending. My friend is going to buy us the food I've asked for, and we should arrive earlier than I had been thinking we would so we may have time to do a little food shop ourselves.

Glad kitty cat is not just naughty thrifty

Puppy has been 'naughty' today and has decided he will go for a number two every time he goes in the car! This evening he went 4 times in 2 hours :( So spent most of my evening washing the duvet covers we use as puppy beds and cleaning and recleaning his crate.

Today was SFD number 4 :) and watched only 20 minutes of tv, whilst eating tea.

Not much else to report but I'm super tired so off to sleep :)

  • Just worked out that with the bookings we have for paying guests over the next month, we can still clear the last CC by 15 August I think. This will mean I need to be very tight on other budgets as usually I'm able to reinvest some of that cash in breakfast foods/stuff for house whereas that will need to come from our own allowances instead to do this. Its tight, but possible. There is one payment going through today which cancels out the OD that I temporarily dipped into. After that, I will transfer the guest payments to the CC as soon as they clear.

This does make me feel better about the hassle that we are going to have over the next few weeks, as we have rented the whole house out for a few days which really isn't that convenient any more (on more than one occasion). However, worth it to lose the last of the CC I think!! End is once again in sight.
  • Checking in, nothing to report really other than a bout of insomnia that I REALLY hope is going to go away soon.... It's really good to read about everyone's meal planning, this is something I need to get better at, because I always attempt to do it and then fail miserably! I think learning to cook more than 4 things might be a good start... :)

Sorry to hear about your insomnia. I'm sure you already have, but I would recommend a proper bedtime routine, like kids have (bath, read a book etc).

  • Thanks Fmess - I do have a routine and generally this works and I wake up about 5:30, but I think I've let myself get wound up about some stuff at work and hey presto, 2am wake up. On the bright side, I've got some dissertation done :) I may try a bath tonight, that's an excellent suggestion!

I finally bagged another SFD yesterday :j I've also signed up for another experiment, so that'll be another fiver in my hand next week :D I sold some stuff on a FB selling group, so once that hits my Paypal that's another £22 made.

In even more exciting news, my decorating is FINISHED :j The new carpet went down yesterday and we've got all the furniture back in the room. I need to get books in the bookcases today, but otherwise it's looking lovely :D:D
