    Morning Chickadees!

The sun is shining today as I whizzed to the train station! Wore less this time so it was nice to feel the sun on my skin! My legs are feeling stronger as I force myself to use the steps at the tube stations as well ( 100 steps where I get on and only a small 25 where I get off). But I felt like a complete droopy-drawers next to all the thin, tanned, fashionable people on the tube in their tiny tiny tiny shorts! :o:o:o

Really want to see if I can get a cheap / free pedometer somewhere and see how many steps I take..

Dolly84 I think I will do another ride this weekend but bring food with me and sit and enjoy the scenery - possibly 16 miles like you - how long did it take?

Abundant - you cut up your CC?? I am impressed! So you MUST stick to your budget then eh? Keep us updated on those feelings of "oh wish I didn't do that / glad I did do that" that emerge along the way!

Homemademama - please please please post a picture of the knitted unicorn! :T
Thrify - what is the depo injection? And are you training for a 25K or attempting to complete in your own time that lengh?

    Munchin - hump day?

Mooomin - another cinema attendee!! Great to hear it! However... a naughty ice cream means no treats at the cinema but I get the feeling you are like me and refuse to buy their expensive cr*ppy sugar filled food..

Speakingofart - I feel your pain! 8 people leaving in my office. I have managed to avoid 3 so far.

Right... I gotta get some work done considering I sat on my laurels researching hotels in Thailand yesterday.....:o:o:o

    Onwards and Upwards!!!

    Sneaking on at work...

I have just eaten ALL my lunch! Only a snack pot of almonds left... A colleague here was ill yesterday with the bug I had last week. I really feel for her as it is awful. She fainted too, I think. I did get asked if it was my fault! and I pointed out that I had it LAST WEDS, and I don't work on a Tues, so no way could it be me!!!!!!!!!! Cheeky blighters. :D.

I have noticed a shift in my thinking over the last few months. I no longer stockpile as much (although dh has still to be broken of this habit - 6 bags of coffee so far...!) and decide that something can run out before getting the next one in. The only exceptions are food for dd as she needs special stuff and isn't the one economising to pay off the mortgage!

My latest 'boasting' experience - as requested by kat: I washed my hair yesterday with a mix of bicarb and water, then conditioned it with a mix of apple cider vinegar and water. And it's worked!!! I do have loads of shampoo + conditioner left as I bought a 5 litre pot of each a loooooong time ago, but it's taken me this long to get through about 1/2 of them, so I decided weeks ago to bite the bullet in July and give them up.

Well done abundant on chopping up the card! :T

homemademama, I love that you confess to an unnecessary lime!!!!!!!!

Oooooh. More freebies news: a colleague has given us her dd's bike for my dd, as they are off to Canada for good.

And dd has decided that she no longer wants the new bed we were going to get her, as it's not high enough to play under. So I offered to take the wardrobe doors off the one she currently has, and she was well chuffed. One happy dd! :)

    Hello all,

V quick check in from me, as crazy busy work day - have been speed reading through the posts so appologies if I've missed anything from anyone.

Purplejay and Tiptoes - so sorry to hear of your losses.

SFD for me yesterday, but not today - needed bread and got cards for the month as well. Another gym session too.

Have a good day all, sorry for the rush!

PS Kat if you PM your address I could send one from work - apologies I can't do this for everyone, just a little thankyou to Kat for her help - they are not the world's greatest pedometer though so will understand if you have a better offer!

Hehe, no the C25K stands for couch to 5 k :) After having two kids and not doing proper exercise for years I start slow.

The depo injection is a form of contraception, instead of taking the pill I get a jab every three months. With two kids I didn't want to risk forgetting the pill in the mayhem that is now a morning. But it has side effects like irregular periods (some stop completely, which I'm hoping for) and weight issues. Not gained any but seem to find it harder to shift another few pounds to fit into my wedding dress.

    Afternoon all...

Caught up on posts - and sending hugs to PurpleJay and TiptoesDB... i cannot imagine what the loss of a parent must be like - although as mine hit their mid 70's i think about it more and more... My thoughts are with you both. Lots of love x

Today is turning out to be a spendy day... I was going to give my friend money for their birthday towards their holiday in September (when I won't be so broke) but I caved in and bought a few little things that soon added up! Bought some cards for other birthdays later in the month and had a chuckle in the shop choosing them haha!

Anyhow - 02nd July and I have £50 fuel left and £55 for food/spends - gawd... This month will be a challenge. No CC to fall back on (thanks for your congratualtions!) so I have no choice but to SURVIVE!!!

Have a nice evening folks :)

Purplejay sorry to hear about your mother, my sister passed away in January with vascular dementia, even thou she had no quality of life in the end. To be honest grief seems to come in waves, silly little things set me off. hugs
Tiptoes sorry to hear about your father, hope your alright hugs

Well managed to start this month fairly well so far 2 nsd days so far. Need some milk and fruit but will wait till tomorrow, I haven't got a tired 3yr old in tow after work then. Shopping would cost a lot more. Not going until made lists and planned meals I will be organised this month.

Giving my house a makeover this month as lodger free. Will keep me busy and out of mischief hopefully.

Exercise its coming soon. Just dog walking so far, not been very long ones so busy last few days.

Kat - the 16 miles took us 1 hr and 20 minutes. For most of that we had heads down and legs pumping with just a couple of bits coasting to look at the views.

Done my spreadsheets etc. My grocery budget is quite high but the last few months were prob in the region of £ 3-400, so I want to approach it sensibly and I need to retrain my frugal ways. Exercise going well. Just done a Jillian Michaels shred video much to the entertainment of baba. Also cut the lawns and started sorting out my paperwork that just accumulated in a big pile for months.
