I hope Lemon's posted that his Dad's OK, and I've missed it?PasturesNew wrote: »I'll lasso it in a bit ... watching Judge Rinder.
That's just weird.
I knew Rob when I was at uni and doing inter-varsity debating, and university worlds competitions. And he's at the Bar, as well. You can't be watching him on TV. It's weird!
I've not seen him - he used to have a wonderful, sharp, slightly camp* sense of humour. Does he still?
* OK, very camp....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
We had a busy day today - I took Isaac and Kermie to Rochester Castle for their medieval fair, and Isaac loved it:
Then we picked some sloes, blackberries, crab apples and runner beans:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

It's a bit of an anticlimax. The Ripper was a mad man known to the police, but they just could not pin him down.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

You have to see him ..... just so you can tell if he's changed or "putting it on more" and a bit of a kn0b.0 -
Happy Fathers Day to me.
We went out to our local show home place this afternoon. It was great fun for me. The kids whinged all the way round which was nice.
Now we're off to the local RSL for a glass of wine and a go at the Fathers Day raffle.
Question for the Nice People. When I told The Girl that she shouldn't use the word 'bugg..', should I have said, "Because it's like sexing [their word for having sex] but in the bottom"?0 -
How old is the girl now gen?
My nieces used sexing too. Its entered the family lexicon.0 -

I don't think you need to tell them it's bum sex. I think you just need to tell them it's not good manners, or classy, to use the word. It's not big, it's not clever - and if used wrongly can land them in heaps of trouble.
The thing is, there is a vernacular use and the word sometimes means bum sex and is sometimes just a mild expletive.
B**** off: not good
He's a naughty b*****: humorous/vernacular

I don't think I would have an anal sex conversation with an eight year old personally, unless they asked me first.0
