This could be a good race
I don't think it will be - seem to remember Chewie had some lump sums to pay it off in a few years?
I'm not sure I'll be able to keep paying off at the same rate either. Main focus is making sure the ltv is under 60% at the end of my 5 yr fix. A close second is getting the monthly payment down in case my income reduces (as a one income household I'm a bit more highly geared than is relaxing).0 -
I have the BTL in my 'accounts' at purchase price but if we had accepted best offer we would have been numerically mortgage free although we would have held onto the credit line in reality.
Apparently I remind DW of Michael CrawfordI used to aspire to Bart Simpson playing me in the movie of my life but now I aspire to Homer.
I think....0 -
Quite proud of this effort

Edit: Ah, I see that's no good .... could google the school, see if they put it online, but they probably don't as it's effort and might not be "allowed"
Suspect that posting exam results online would be a data protection fail.Nice badge Lydia
Thank you.
What I hadn't realised is that the badger PMs you when he gives you the badge. :jchewmylegoff wrote: »Yes, well done on the badge Lydia. Only another 24 years and 10 months to go until I get one!
You'll get there in the end. I think I'd rather take the slow route to mortgage freedom if the fast route involves the death of one's partner. Hope all is well with you and Mrs Chewy.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Congrats to Lydia, how did it feel?
My good feeling lasted about a morning then I found it a bit of an anti climax as nothing really changes except your bank balance is a bit better.
Mine was quite low though as I'd had it about 20 years before it was paid.
It felt good. Then it felt a bit of an anticlimax. Then I remembered I could go and cancel the SO for it, and that felt good. Then there was a stressful interlude with my kids, and then a painful few hours, and now my mortgage freedom has been rather eclipsed as I am enjoying the blissful euphoria of NOT having a speck of something under my eyelid. When it didn't clear up on its own I went to A&E, where the consultant who eventually took less than a minute to find and remove the offending object said that my effusive gratitude for the immediate relief made me her most rewarding patient of the day. Then I got home and found my badge and all your congratulations, so I am feeling mortgage freedom joy again.
Sorry - if you ask me how something feels, you're liable to get TMI in response.Quite proud of this effort

Yay! Getting a thesis diagram just the way you want it is a very satisfying feeling. I remember it well. Well done on making progress today. :T:T:TDo you know anyone who's bereaved? Can't take credit for the ideas, or the layout - it's a textbook diagram really (this is part of the introduction to the field). I was told to draw my own diagrams rather than borrowing (and referencing, of course) ones drawn by professionals. I've combined ideas/ info from a few sources though.0 -
On a completely different note...
I have just paid off my "mortgage", posted on the mortgage free roll of honour, and then remembered to cancel the standing order to my dad.
Nice one!
I can't see a badge, where would it be?HAMISH_MCTAVISH wrote: »Can I just say it's been very nice to see a few of the Nice People out visiting other threads on the board recently.

Sounds very tough. I have nothing helpful to say, so <hugs>Indeed. Innocent until proven guilty should apply to everyone - just ask Christopher Jefferies.
Couldn't agree more. This is all very, very dodgy. He's not even been questioned, let alone arrested or charged. So the police deliberately leaked the fact that they'd obtained a warrant, and the time / date of the execution of it.
That's the only possible way the press knew about a plain clothes search, and the allegation which lead to it....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Is the idea that once you put a name 'in play' perhaps other victims/witnesses will come forward (especially if the mark is loaded and there might be compensation/damages....)I think....0
