They are on face book but private which fir described as a rare sign of wisdom or a more common expression of vanity. ( I think his is private) :rotfl: I don't expect to be told for a minute. (Unless they think I might give money) but that doesn't been I've stopped caring.
Tbc, I am fully aware I cannot have my cake and eat it, we cut our ties and i believe it was best for us all, me and the children especially. If I don't want sibling in my life tapping and draining me, then if lost other rights too. I'm not feeling sorry for myself. Just.....wondering, wishing really.0 -

- Janeane Garofalo in The Truth About Cats and Dogs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janeane_Garofalo
- somebody else that I can't remember now .... might have been Kate Bush (in her Wuthering Heights days)
I think people are just blind to be honest

That sounds perfectly reasonable to me. And I woudn't expect any less of you. It is not your fault that the relationship is as it is. It certainly wouldn't all magically be fabulous if you had coughed up the cash.0 -

Noone's without fault. I without any dispute accept about 7% blame.. But, blame isn't really the issue. The situation was very warped. It was damaging to all of us, and two people were young enough to have no say, so better to reduce the manipulation, I felt at the time.

BTW...Which board could I post on to ask about divorce and how it's done nowadays?
Isn't that the sort of thing the CAB is supposed to be able to advise about? Not that they had a clue when I asked them about my situation, but maybe that was just the particular advisor that I saw. I think there are divorce forums where you can get info too.If you're feeling brave you could try the relationships board.... good luck!
Oooh scary. *shudders*Which brings me onto our trial next April. NP's will be offered free holiday accommodation for a long weekend on the sole condition that they so us a feedback that is not in NP mode. Brutal honesty required written from a customer perspective who paid full whack.
A blend of types would be good and you don't even have to meet us (as we have to experiment with key access and things) so we can get FB from those with kids/babies/ dogs and so on. Also, the different expectations that different types of people have. Obvs, if it's any area you would never visit anyways, then that may not work as the location/area isn't anything we can change.
Sounds exciting. It's in Margate, isn't it? How big is it - as in how many people does it sleep?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Can I just say it's been very nice to see a few of the Nice People out visiting other threads on the board recently.
“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

FC if you use usenet, there is a group uk.legal.moderated that you may get help on.
Two points:
With current case law the starting point for a divorce settlement after a long marriage is 50/50. Some assets are not marital assets, and they may not get divided 50/50. Something thee husband owned pre marriage could fall into that category. However, the family home is always a marital asset. So, the husband can't hold onto it. If necessary it will have to be sold and the proceeds divided.
Second point is what The wife is going to do about it? Unless she is capable of standing up for herself, or paying a lawyer to stand up for her, she is going to get shafted by what sounds like a very adamant, if not a bullying, husband. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
