Another car in addition to the Audi A1 has made it onto my radar. It's the Mazda 2. Has anyone got one, had one or know anybody who has one and is willing to give me their opinion?
Others to consider may be the Mini or BMW 1.

If you're considering cheaper then the Fiesta and Hyundai i10 are worth a look.

Have at least 3 test drives and you will have a much better idea.

I have been going through the same process recently as the OH got rid of her horses and we don't need a 4 x 4 now.

I ended up going for the Audi Q3, which wasn't even on my original short list and just by chance that we went in for a test drive.

Up, bathed, out the door ...... now the proud new owner of:

    http://www.lidl.co.uk/en/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=15325

    :)

OH went into Pwllheli yesterday to get one of those - need it to get to some of the brambles high up in the hedge here in Wales. Also to reach some of the stuff obscuring our view of a mountain we are fond of to the West (ish)... He climbed to top of hedge back in June and hacked what he could reach, but without climbing over scary barbed wire fence he can't get it all out. He used to climb over that fence, but he's just coming up to 69th birthday, so I'm not at all surprised he baulks at it now! I've not been able to do anything up the hedge since I was about 45. So over 20 years now - next birthday end of this month I will be 66! Most of the questionaire stuff I do (Toluna, and stuff like that) it's the top end of the list of ages. I feel horrible aged, but I don't quite feel past it yet. :o

Have to say when OH carried it into the caravan it made me think of Elizabethan torture/killing instruments! "Off with his head". :rotfl:

BTW...Which board could I post on to ask about divorce and how it's done nowadays?

MIL (aged 70) wants to get a divorce but doesn't have a penny for legal fees and the ex is refusing to give her a small share of the house they lived in for 15 years as it was always his and he paid for the mortgage. However, she had 15k that they used to do a lot of work on it (re configured some stuff and sorted it out as it was a total mess prior)......+ that was when the house was worth about 60k.

Might be worth asking on the Over 50s Board? It's a bit random as to topics, but anything to do with over 50s is OK. Who knows, you might even find someone there with actual experience they are willing to share.

Very sad your MIL wants divorce, hope she gets back her share - hopefully she'll at least get back what she put in... Does she have any evidence for that? Bank Statements might show she paid contractors is one thought I had. Really hope she can find some help. Hugs to you for trying to help and find info for her.

I love my mini, but if you need a boot, forget about it! (Or you can do what we do and leave the back seats permanently down).

This could be a good race :D

Congrats to Lydia, how did it feel?

My good feeling lasted about a morning then I found it a bit of an anti climax as nothing really changes except your bank balance is a bit better.

Mine was quite low though as I'd had it about 20 years before it was paid.
