I can kind of see that one.

When I was about 16 someone told me I looked like Andrea from the Corrs. i didn't.

I don't remember being told I look like anyone famous since then. I occasionally get a text from a friend telling me they've seen my twin though. I'd love to see a pic though - would be really interesting (though potentially not very flattering!).

Fir and I see people who look a bit like his db all the time. There has been Indian restaurant db, hundreds of record shop DBs. There has been suave db, barrister db, food critic Db ( though his hair is different). Goth db, paris db, down and out db, tall db, slim db, obese db, black db, Arab db, doggy db, sheep db. ......so many I cannot tell you.

Dbil hates this concept, ( we told him once). He refused to discuss it and pretended he hadn't heard us and just changed subject. There are lots of fir's about too. Dh works with someone we call froggy him. Like fir but more.....froggy.

Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I think this is a situation where you can never win. If they're ugly then you feel down/insulted... if they're gorgeous, then you feel unable to live up to that image and down/glum because you're not as lovely as the person somebody said looked like you :)

It's best if people just stay quiet :)

Of course ... if the person IS gorgeous - and if the person remarking the resemblance runs a Lookey-Likey Talent Agency paying £2000/celebrity look alike fete opening gigs ... then job's a good 'un :)

Only going by what the current owner said.... it's been up the side of a shed, outdoors/exposed for some time.

Maybe a pressure washer/steam cleaner would do just as good... but I've not got either.

Why not sand it down and see what colour / old wood tone it has ended up with?. Maybe just a bit of clear varnish (or whatever you use for outside things) after sanding would be enough?

    On a completely different note...

I have just paid off my "mortgage", posted on the mortgage free roll of honour, and then remembered to cancel the standing order to my dad.

    Congrats :D

That was our plan too when we moved....but we found out we can port our existing 0.49% above base rate to another property, no fees, no early payment penalties etc. We hummed/haa'd , had a chat with the accountant and figured it would be sensible for now as paying it isn't a major stress with current income and with future income (if plans work out).

Meant we had a big cushion and full refurb fund for Dream House (which will be a big fat sum in the end)...and then I found number 3 Holiday possibility flat, again directly onto a promenade with full sea views and 2 turrets. Would buy it outright and then 3 sea view hol lets completes the new business to launch next year.

Which brings me onto our trial next April. NP's will be offered free holiday accommodation for a long weekend on the sole condition that they so us a feedback that is not in NP mode. Brutal honesty required written from a customer perspective who paid full whack.

A blend of types would be good and you don't even have to meet us (as we have to experiment with key access and things) so we can get FB from those with kids/babies/ dogs and so on. Also, the different expectations that different types of people have. Obvs, if it's any area you would never visit anyways, then that may not work as the location/area isn't anything we can change.

BTW...Which board could I post on to ask about divorce and how it's done nowadays?

MIL (aged 70) wants to get a divorce but doesn't have a penny for legal fees and the ex is refusing to give her a small share of the house they lived in for 15 years as it was always his and he paid for the mortgage. However, she had 15k that they used to do a lot of work on it (re configured some stuff and sorted it out as it was a total mess prior)......+ that was when the house was worth about 60k.

He doesn't have any money either and can't re mortgage due to his age so it's stalemate. Can't get what someone doesn't have.

I read about Co op mediation? I haven't done too much research yet (as that's left to moi) but not sure where to start.

If you're feeling brave you could try the relationships board.... good luck!

April next year I might completely footloose and fancy free (what a thought!). I will be available for weekends away :) I don't have pets or children, but I do have mystery shopping experience if that helps.
