The average NP punter will think "2lbs, so what?", but it's a milestone as our scales are in kilos and I'm under 100 kilos now. :D

Plumpkin NP will think "I wish I had Wheezy's will power".

    Well done.

Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I am not at work today, as I will be in London for work on Friday.

I have not spent today in a hive of industry or domestic business. Done a few little things but got a bit caught up in the sadness evoked by Robin Williams...close to home reminiscence and how Obama, the President of the US is leading tributes, we NP remote as we are are expressing sorrow at his loss but this poor troubled man could not see his own worth.

But..I have ahd a grumpy MSE moment. I ordered oil, about 1000l. Looked up a quote on boilerjuice then rang our supplier who we have an account with.

The local supplier quoted me 2p per litre more. There is over £1500 credit on our account. So I asked them to close the account, return my funds and I will buy online. We are in no rush, the tank is about half full.

They have capitulated and matched the boilerjuice price...but I have made my views known that longstanding customers can and do go.

We pay by DD, £187pm.I may ask them to send me some of the balance back..or not...as they pay 4% interest.

We also pay £61 electric pm . I think we might not be very MSE with fuel:( We might need a fuel diet.

Oh, for that electricity bill. I have forgotten bills like that. I thought that general price rises made them extinct.

We have a lot of electricity use but even so. :(.

Is this impact of RP? What else do you have?

Our is Oil, Electric (as above) and Wood (about £120 pa).

Perhaps £250 month for domestic fuel & power is normal and we don't need a diet:) I will push those MSE thoughts from my mind..and go and get my nails done. Phew.

    RP's impact is just massive.

Not RP's impact on our electric is things like the pump for Lake Cake ( which I really much turn on very soon, the pumps for the biodisc ( ok, they go more the more they are used, but that's getting silly petty, ).

I'm, not sure what else. But we don't have oil costs. ( electric heating!)

We have ben buying about 250 worth of wood to have chopped hardwood to intersperse with out own stuff, but this year we will only be using our own wood, mainly because we'll be less reliant on it, and also because the leylandii has been drying a Long time now, and burning well, so we're happier about using it.

We still only have one woodburner ( the flue needs attention too). That and the fire in cheese room and wood burner in the study are on our 'to do list' but we just cannot gather steam to sort any thing out ATM. We have chosen study woodburner, but that's as far as we have hot, not even colour because black is cheapest, but we both would prefer the more expensive enamelled one.

Kitchen fire we are just ignoring ATM. Because then we have to make decision about hearth which means we have to make decision about floor....:D

To get somewhere really good, you need to spend £35m. ;)

    Not even that good, IMHO.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
