I don't think this is very MSE, driving around without buying any products.
It wasn't. I was in there at 2.30pm - hoping that the shop wouldn't be out of things - but, yet again, it's not only out of Pepsi, but many other things I'd have got.
That happens a lot - you go out shopping with a list .... and they are out of stock of half of it. It's always happening and it's annoying! Costs about £2 to get there/back. Spent 70p on 6 (bread) muffins though.0 -

The second option was to go to Sainsburys, so I went, but the price on the shelf was different to what mysupermarket said - it was full price, so I left it. Back home, now, I just checked the Sainsburys website and it gives a special offer/lower price.

To get somewhere really good, you need to spend £35m.

Not even that good, IMHO.
That top one is sitting on the A1, no wonder it is (relatively) cheap.
Nice pad you have in the second one.

It is an illness that finds it's own triggers in each individual, manifests itself to the circumstances it finds itself in. There's too much of this "he was a a comedy genius therefore it was inevitable" stuff floating around at the moment but all we really know is that it can effect anyone, anytime, anywhere.
What lemonjelly said.lemonjelly wrote: »"If you feel alone and down, anxious and low. If you feel deep sadness but can't find a root cause. If people tell you to 'snap out of it' or 'things can only get better' or 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger', know that it's simply not always true. Sometimes it does kill you.
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" really really bugs me. Sometimes stuff doesn't kill you but it leaves you broken.
I mean, I know that there are some aspects of my life in which I am stronger than before everything fell apart, and I'm grateful for the people that affirm me about that, but it's certainly not all aspects. And even the aspects that are stronger weren't automatic. I worked hard and received a lot of help to process my "stuff". Other people either choose not to do that, or don't know how, or don't have any access to help, or whatever, and remain hurting, damaged people. Glibly telling them that they must inevitably now be stronger is crass. And it's stupid, anyway. It's clearly not true on a physical level - illnesses and accidents that don't kill people often leave them with ongoing health problems not automatic improved vitality - so why should it be so on a psychological level?
It's almost as bad as "children are resilient". No, they're absorbent. They may look as if they've "got over" whatever it is, but without help they will just be burying it inside, to have who knows what effect on their lives in the future.

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Not sure I could cope with the house in Saddleworth. It has a butlers sink and an aga, which are my two pet hates. I remember the butlers sink from my childhood, and how much nicer the stainless steel one was that we replaced it with. But that's very petty of me. Apart from that, it has lovely views, and it's a great house.
What do you have against the Aga?
We have a double porcelain sink, and no Aga. I like Agas, though, and cuddle up against the one at my parents' house in the winter if I can get to it past the dogs and my siblings. That has been exactly the story of my life for the last year. Mum went into a sheltered flat last February (they call it 'service flat' over there)
Over where? Where does your mother live?Lemondaddy will be in my thoughts and a big hug (not a dodgy one) for lemonjelly.
Meanie - what if LJ wants a dodgy hug?
I'll give you both one!

Offers often change overnight on a Tuesday. Perhaps they had changed the shelf edge label in advance? Or perhaps there was an out of date ticket?
As Pepsi is a requirement, did you check the price at a till? If there was something I really wanted, I'd take it to the till, find out the price and if it wasn't on offer I'd say I was expecting it to be on offer as I'd e.g. seen it on the website so I'd be leaving it.0 -

I did the self-service, real tills were 6-deep with people with HUGE trolleys of stuff. I never thought to just get to the till, check it and abandon it.... I just assumed mysupermarket was wrong.
I'd get it delivered to my house, via online shopping, except I've no confidence whatsoever that any supermarket would ever supply me with what'd be about 12-13 8-packs. There'd be some annoying/daft substitution ... or the driver would turn up with one pack .... or they'd cancel the order as it's not over £25 any more.
I buy it "on price" - so not interested in bottles, or different sized cans, or the non-diet version, or the cherry one .... I just want what I want .... and no substitutions and no let downs.0
