Apart from that bloody furrener in his decrepit old Mazda on his way to Sainsburys once a week, it looks perfectly safe.

I expect he has a dangerous dog too:)

On the 400k in my area theme, you get this:

    http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-29423256.html - a 2 bed flat in a smart but dated block.

    or

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-45590393.html a townhouse on a road that has been carved out of nothing, with too much traffic nearby.

I like the Saddleworth house very much...

To continue the "400k near me gets you.." theme, 400k near me gets you a not very inspiring 2 bed flat - 873 sq ft.

    If we take the AUD2.5 = GBP1 which I use as a standard, that's a million bucks.

    http://www.domain.com.au/property/for-sale/house/nsw/north-ryde/?adid=2011354485&sp=2

I think they took the description off the rental ad:
    Features

    • Air Conditioning
    • Heating
    • Built-In Wardrobes
    • Close to Schools
    • Close to Shops
    • Close to Transport
    • Pets Allowed

Estate agents are such a shower.

Land (including the house) is a bit over 1/4 acre which I think is 120 furlongs per chain per fluid ounce (I'm starting to forget how imperial measures work).

It's quite nice actually. Shame I haven't got a million bucks kicking about!

Very sad about Robin Williams. Lots of depression around my family and it really is a shocking disease, just horrible.

Such a shame he fell back into drinking. It doesn't help with depression at all although it might feel like it does.

@fc, great news about your mum and I echo what everyone says about your house, it's fabulous!

I find it really hard to understand how he could have taken his own life. He's a major star, very successful, with everything to live for. Depression is such an ugly illness. He presumably just could not see how wonderful he was.

Apparently the Academy of Motion Arts has paid a Twitter tribute to Robin Williams. Using the following still from Aladdin the movie they said...

    Genie, you're free

    which seems awfully appropriate:(

No, but I did put my hoodie on the past few mornings for doggy walk. I can't remember when I last wore it, must have been early June...it's been such a nice summer.

ooop North anything more than 10 degrees is considered tropical. I personally won't be putting my boob tube away until mid-November as tradition demands.

Masomnia, your home town has an excellent Scania delaership, but I'm not sure that is enough to encourage me to move.

    Now 15st 12lbs

    Now 15st 10lbs

The average NP punter will think "2lbs, so what?", but it's a milestone as our scales are in kilos and I'm under 100 kilos now. :D

So the actual geographical centre of the NP thread is Greater Surrey and not Greater Hertfordshire. Interesting.....

(we live on the other side of walton bridge btw...)
