Awful news about Robin Williams dying. He was a major comedy star; did brilliant stuff :(

Nice to see you back .... I check your account often to see when you last logged in - and have seen you still about/regularly .... but I don't mention it often as it's annoying to see your name if you're in hiding.

Glad things have turned a couple of corners for you. Good luck with the housey stuff.

    Yes, he was good.

There'll be a lot of teens/20s in tears when they hear this news ... until somebody points out their error.

The rabbit one is quite cute too.....but I love the hand. I think it would give PN the spooks though...
They all do ... it's an odd white/shiney stuff... like an albino materialising monster from some late night film!

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Just wanted to skulk in quietly and sit at the back of the NPT for a while....except there is no option for that in Internet Land.

I have been following most of the news on the thread and wish to extend congrats to PN and LJ on the house buying, good vibes to Gen and Lydia, congrats to NDG on her new arrival...OMG and this is where I forget someone so I will stop there....but I have been dropping in and posting a thanks...which was meant to say 'I know, I care and good luck etc '.

My lame excuse is that we have had one of the most challenging years emotionally for a long time as my mothers illness took her to the edge, and then affected me in a way that was totally unexpected. I was always the 'difficult one' and, as she was days from death at the end of last year, we got to say the things that never got said.
I find it difficult to write about it...and that was why I couldn't communicate by writing for a period of time...in fact I kind of closed down emotionally and just worked like a demon.

She then had an experimental op (that was filmed) and it has given her a few more years....even the surgeons were amazed at her recovery from it as she was given only a 10% chance of surviving it.

During all of this OH destroyed our house and rebuilt it around us...as we DD and I worked all hours to try and bring in serious wodges of cash in order to complete it. We had no windows during the storms etc and shuffled about all winter freezing cold like Michael Bentines pottymen.

......and then a few weeks back a dream house came into my inbox...so we had a mad rush to finish the house over the past 4 weeks and had our open day Saturday just gone.

Had 2nd viewing today (and the teens chose their bedrooms) then had another viewing tonight..and they want it too.

Got more booked throughout the week and we just need to get a good firm offer so we can make our offer on Dream House before the 15th August.....as no-one wants it...and then the agent called to warn us of a serious viewing this week on the 15th. It is a genuine thing, not an EA ruse.

The Zoopla pics aren't great and the kitchen wasn't quite finished when they did them...no LED lights under units and no plinth/cornice (which took the cupboards up to the ceilings)...in fact, you can see it sitting on the top units waiting to be fitted
The virtual tour pics aren't bad though....

    My House Project http://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/34081137

Dream house for us is 400k and it's here http://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/33482778
It looks in better cond in the listing that it is. It is a huge heap of neglected 1929 loveliness...with sea views front and back. It also has a 3 bed flat on the 2nd floor and a 2 bed annexe (which needs re-building). It fits into our Live/Work dream as I can fit workspace into it no problem.

I am having a bit of time out...what needs doing? Willing and able to help at an point over the next few weeks

All I can say is...wow! That is one seriously nice looking house (your project)

    Will delete.

£400k near me gets you this bungalow. I know it's done up and stuff, but that's bonkers. Apparently the average for the area is £165k!

ETA: 30 minutes away you can live in the rather more sought-after Saddleworth area, have £10k left over, you get this v nice semi, loads of character, same number of rooms but with lovely views of the valley, and you don't have to live in Middleton!

If you are sleeping rough with no phone, how do you know that hotmail are reassessing accounts?

Unfortunately, it's often the only way the homeless have of staying in touch. Some rough sleepers have mobile phones that they charge in library plug sockets, but for many, email is their main form of contact.

Lovely to see you. Especially good news about your mum. It had sounded so grim, a sad outcome inevitable so this sounds like a miracle. Really so so pleased for you and your family.

You house looks amazing. Too nice to live in. Well for me anyway.
    The Margate one looks lovely.

Glad you have posted, you must have felt tired writing all that. Hope it is a sign of life settling a bit for you.
