Unfortunately, it's often the only way the homeless have of staying in touch. Some rough sleepers have mobile phones that they charge in library plug sockets, but for many, email is their main form of contact.

Fortunately..it is a way. Pre internet for many all communication was lost.

And how lovely that library land caters for them and provides this for them.

Lovely to see you posting. What amazing news about your mum. So glad you get a bit more time with her. My mum had a surprise 2.5 years after we thought she was dying, which I am so grateful for.

Both houses look amazing. You are both of you so talented.

Must dash. Stuff to do. Back later.

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Will delete.

£400k near me gets you this bungalow. I know it's done up and stuff, but that's bonkers. Apparently the average for the area is £165k!

ETA: 30 minutes away you can live in the rather more sought-after Saddleworth area, have £10k left over, you get this v nice semi, loads of character, same number of rooms but with lovely views of the valley, and you don't have to live in Middleton!

Not sure I could cope with the house in Saddleworth. It has a butlers sink and an aga, which are my two pet hates. I remember the butlers sink from my childhood, and how much nicer the stainless steel one was that we replaced it with. But that's very petty of me. Apart from that, it has lovely views, and it's a great house.

I am truly amazed at FC's house. I was expecting some design flair, but that is simply amazing. I'm not sure I could cope with the house in cliftonville. It's simply too big. At one time, when we had all the kids living at home, I'd have jumped at it though.

Ilike the idea of a butler's sink, in order to wash/soak larger items - the irony is that most houses with a butler's sink also have a utility room, so it's not 'needed' so much.

My sink here is deep and quite big.... but my 'perfect house' would have had a utility room so I could have room to wash big things and leave things in soak etc without them being in the way of washing dishes.

I think I'll end up picking up a baby's bath at a car boot sale, to be kept in the shed, so that I can do these "big item washing" and soaking jobs outside in the garden when the weather's drier.

Awful news about Robin Williams dying. He was a major comedy star; did brilliant stuff :(

I find it really hard to understand how he could have taken his own life. He's a major star, very successful, with everything to live for. Depression is such an ugly illness. He presumably just could not see how wonderful he was.

fc - as everyone has said, so lovely to 'see' you again. Good vibes being sent to your mum, hope she continues to exceed expectations.

Your house looks AMAZING. I may have to save some of the pics as there are plenty of things I'd like to ask you where you got them from. You and Mr fc are quite a team. Can totally picture you guys in the Margate place. You would make that completely fabulous too. My fingers are crossed that you manage to line up your sale and purchase.

Hope you (all) manage to take some time out v soon - sounds like everyone in the fc family has had a hectic and stressful few months x

It's a thing I've noticed many times how the truly talented see their limits much more clearly than the less talented (who often think their powers are boundless).

I read a figure somewhere about how many people with depression die from it. Horrifying.

That house looks amazing. Gives "well dressed" a whole new meaning.

Depression lies to you. The problem is that people listen to that lying voice and believe it is themselves. It's not.

Depression will lie and tell you that nobody cares. It lied to him in exactly the same way that it does to so many. No discrimination. Judging by my social media feeds this morning, there isn't a person on earth that would agree with what his depression told him.
