For and I made a commitment to day after talking about woodburners.

His skin is struggling and so we have definitely decided to opt for a hospital style light unit over the wood burner and fire this year.

No more dithering. If its dodgy going into winter by the end of winter it will be a state, so I feel much happier with that decision. :). Now, where the hell will we put it? :(

To get somewhere really good, you need to spend £35m. ;)

    Not even that good, IMHO.

I quite liked the flat. The garden of the house reminded me of a military cemetery.

Sounds like an excellent decision to me.
Fleecy blankets and cosying up to someone with comfortable skin beats extra wood burners hands down.

Very sensible budgeting. Now you need michaels skills employed on your behalf to find the best deal.

I did the self-service, real tills were 6-deep with people with HUGE trolleys of stuff. I never thought to just get to the till, check it and abandon it.... I just assumed mysupermarket was wrong.

I'd get it delivered to my house, via online shopping, except I've no confidence whatsoever that any supermarket would ever supply me with what'd be about 12-13 8-packs. There'd be some annoying/daft substitution ... or the driver would turn up with one pack .... or they'd cancel the order as it's not over £25 any more.

I buy it "on price" - so not interested in bottles, or different sized cans, or the non-diet version, or the cherry one .... I just want what I want .... and no substitutions and no let downs.

Sains website says the offer (I'm guessing I'm looking at the right one - cans, Max) is 'for delivery 13/08 to 20-something/8' perhaps the offer starts tomorrow? Possibly mysupermarket takes the prices directly from the website, website gets updated early as the soonest you can get a delivery is next day?

That's my guess anyway. But supermarket offers generally change on a Tues night.

I bought one, or rather made him. Had been looking at them for some months, so kind of knew which model would be good.

    Totally normal.

We pay £200 - £120 gas and £80 electric and I've been beating down an electricity defecit with that. This house is woefully short of insulation compared to proper projects we've carries out. In winter 2010 we used £150 gas per month (so not carried across the year and paid for in summer) mid winter in a 2400 square foot house with proper insulation - and had the thermostat on to click in at 17 degrees overnight.

It all depresses me. Especially as the localcouncilare thoroughly unimpressed by the prospect of us having a passive house here. Cynical !!!!!!!s.

You're only really paying for the name "harbourne" in your address really.

    I prefer my house tbh.:D

I was stood in the pub beer garden about 3 meters away - exactly over the wall from where that photo was taken, two weeks ago. A massive (but nice) beer garden that used to be a bowling green.

Over where? Where does your mother live?

Wheezy's Belgian, isn't he? So his mum's probably somewhere in Belgium, I imagine.

    Excellent decision.

Initially I read the "over" in your second paragraph as saying that you were planning to position the light unit on the wall above the woodburner, which struck me as likely to look rather odd. Took me a while to realise you were talking about priorities rather than position. :rotfl:

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
