This house is two minutes up the road from me, read and weep people in Herts. No there isn't a 0 missing in the price. You can't actually see the front of the house from the road, I have lusted before, but it's out of my price range.

Bl**dy hell. Something we could afford.
That gets you nothing in our village...even our 2.5 bedroom cottage would be more.0 -

Around here, £400k gets you something like these:

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

We have some of these which we hang from crooks outdoors. I think we have had them for about 15 years in galvanised metal. Last used, last week for WW1 candle.
Did I mention that I bought a Tower poppy too?0 -
Sounds like I might be leaving Chez Inrates with a car-ful of manure, so perhaps that would be the better visit to hand it over! I'd be more than happy to lend it to you. It's a thing of wonder. Good excuse for an extra meet-up too
We have one I would happily lend. However I would need OH to give you a demo/instruction. He has shown me how to use it...but sadly I was useless:)0 -
I am really not fussy about whom I borrow one from.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? When Nikkster visited PN she worked like a trojan. When I visited PN she laundered my top.
That little post is just to set the scene, manage expectations or establish rules of engagement for any outings to which I might be invited.0 -
Spirit, I am ONLY inviting you to lunch, Not to do any work. Please don't worry.
Nikkster, fir and I can toil at a weekend when RP isn't here, if any one fancies it fine but tbh I'm amazed nikkster volunteered.0 -
Where I live, £400k gets you a choice of five regular 4-bed houses, 3 detached, 2 terraced.
But £400k would buy plenty of nice/large houses in other areas close by, I'm sure. There are always bigger/cheaper houses in places that we can find a reason to not want to live in.... and if we had £400k we'd still bemoan what it could buy0 -

If the toil is such that DS and DD could either join in or watch, then I will come and toil too.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Long Lost Family starting on ITV now. Love that programme.
Both parties always hope the other will find them .... yet, for many, it's almost impossible to do alone.0
