Noted. If this situation has not changed by the time of my next visit, we will rectify it.

I introduced someone to their first Pimms this year. They loved it. I'm sure I could do it again :)
I too have never experienced pimms o'clock.
PN, we have more in common than you realise...

What car I get is all part of the fun. I've never had a bad car from BMW. Always get something fun or totally new, like 30 miles on the clock. Or both.
BMW, the cars are ok, but 95% of the drivers are *censored - not suitable for nice people*

Well, I'm prepped for my drive to maidenhead tomorrow (that basically means I've sorted the music...). I have no idea who I'll pass on the way, geography was never my strong point. Nor my memory tbh... Anyhow, I'll be down the m40/m42 (or the other way around...)

    I guess I'll pass doozergirl within 10 mins...:D
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Yes. I started to spell out the consequences of hankies that aren't absorbent enough, then thought it was TMI and deleted it.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I've enjoyed it but not as much as the opening ceremony. I'm heading up that way tomorrow. Will wave at chewey, wheezy, dg, maggieUK45 , bugslet , masomnia and allthessses, as I reckon I'm passing their gaffs in roughly that order.

    Wish me luck!

Good luck with the waving? Or good luck with going to Glasgow? I'm happy to wish you luck with both.

Gen, did you watch the cycling today? I thought Geraint Thomas was amazing on a bike with all the reliability of Trigger's broom. 14 finishers out of 139 starters, and one of those was called Jack Bauer. What's not to love about watching road racing?

I've not seen any of the Commonwealth Games cycling. TBH, the Commonwealth Games has always left me a bit cold, I always see it as being the Olympics without the teams that are actually any good (DDR, USSR, USA - shows my age!).

If one of the TdF stages had been about 50m shorter, Jack Bauer would have won it. Seriously, he was in a breakaway which he broke away from in the closing hundreds of meters. He got chased down by the Peloton just before the line.

Today is one of my favourite days of the year: the Bank Holiday. It's a public holiday which only people working in finance get. Imagine getting a public holiday but when everything is just open as normal: the kids are at school, all the special offers at the cinemas etc are on because who isn't working on a Monday? The shops, bars and restaurants are open as normal. Fantastic!

I spent the day just trying to start to get things back to normal after being sick. I spent some time in the back yard clearing up 6 months-worth of weeds, fallen leaves etc and did some feeding of plants. I cleared away a load of crap that has been cluttering up the house for months. I also had a fantastic lie-in this morning. I didn't get out of bed 'til 11am although I was awake for a fair while prior.

I now need to acquire helmet & associated safety gear.
    (oh, & don't tell lydia I cycle with my mp3/earphones in...:shhh:

I don't have any gear. My trip yesterday was just me in shorts and a sleeveless cotton shirt. I don't cycle on busy roads though.... and I am very careful. i amble along, use the Highway Code, never build up any speed ..... and I'm in no rush.

I'd NEVER have an mp3 player on though, that's just daft.

One route takes you past Nikkster's house - could have stopped for Pimms O'clock and give her a shufty of your new wheels :)

Some years ago I had a group of online friends and one was quite young and bought his first car. He knew I lived in Cornwall, he was in Surrey somewhere. He loaded up his car with his mates and decided he'd pay a surprise visit to my town.... he figured he'd arrive, then get in touch, get online and find me and I could meet up at the beach or for a beer.

Trouble was, he was rubbish at geography too ... he turned left out of Surrey instead of right and ended up somewhere in Dorset/Hampshire/Sussex.

I couldn't put a lot of you on a map. On another forum someone once put a map up with everyone's vague locations. It was a more popular thread and ended up with about 200 points, 3 relationships and a split that broke up the thread.
