If you squint and look at the tap, tiles and any marks on the wall and countertop from the correct angle can you see an image of the virgin Mary?
Final final offer on the btl is 1% too low. Part of me says it is only 1% other part says it is worth a fair bit more with planning permission and it is rented out so I am better off keeping it....stick or twist?I think....0 -
My grandmother had a selective memory; anyone she liked became siblings or possibly first cousins, anyone she disliked became second cousins twice removed.
OH's grandmother had a filter - she took whatever she was told about family activities, and relayed it as flatteringly as possible.
So one of OH's cousins went to do "Charity work in Africa" after leaving Israeli special forces. Not "training soldiers" or anything.....PasturesNew wrote: »I doubt she'd have known if she were asked 20 years ago.... she's not really interested. she wasn't interested 20 years ago? Do you know why not, or did she not want to explain?
I wondered if she might remember which baby was which, even if she doesn't know one adult from another....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

It depends what else you would do with the money. If you simply stick it in the bank whilst prices are rising fast, that probably won't be a good idea. If you find another development opportunity ....No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Dh's employers are introducing a free ( taxable benefit) care thing, for when normal care provision for dependant adults ( that would be me) falls through.
Any one know if he can be denied taking time off for hospital appointments with me and a carer sent instead if needed? We both feel HE is needed at many of the appointments.0 -

Take it. Go and do something that isn't as hard to push through. Our appeal took seven months. Seven months that could be spent getting planning permission somewhere else and still benefiting from price rises.
Also, planning consultants and architects are supremely poitive about things until they fail. Funny that.
That's the gamble. Wait and succeed or wait and fail. If you could wait somewhere else with a blank piece of paper on the success front, I think chances would be higher.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Dog dog loses a lot of weight in the heat. Its not a bad thing, and she adores the heat, but she looks a bit gruesome ATM so I have given her some extra food today. She realises she has had something special and is excessively happy ( she checked the others' bowls and knows only she got this) and is now curled up on my lap occasionally looking at me with absolute gratitude. Its not been so warm today, and soon she'll be feeling her heat wave weightless. She shivered this morning quite a lot.0

Looks like the other one we discussed over the weekend is going to attract offers at the asking price (despite being a lot above the rest of the road) so is no going to be an alternative.
I hear you re planning but I hear GDB re staying long property....
Allegedly there may be another interested party even though it isn't even officially for sale....I think....0 -

If it is a taxable benefit, he must have the right to decline to sign up to it, I would have thought.
I would think that time off for hospital appointments is something different altogether. Normal care provision is looking after people, generally in their home, so attending to their needs or ensuring they are not left alone. I wouldn't have thought it would extend to hospital appointments.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Yes, he doesn't have to sign up to it. But there will doubtless be encouragement to.
It seems actually like a great scheme. Its care for all dependants, whether they are kids or dependant adults of any nature, when normal care provision falls through.
In the future I can see it might be really useful to us. But not yet0
