Hickstead is a horsey event in Sussex. DD does not drink and she had not had Pimms before today.

You are probably clean after your meal. I have a couple of 'orange' splodges on a white lawn blouse. I need to go and put it into soak in soda crystals before it is stained tomatoey for ever.

I've not taken DH to hickstead. Its such a nice show ground. Goodness, its been so long. :(.

    Is that a posh alert?
    What's a white lawn blouse??
    :)

Lawn is a very fine cotton. It's lovely and soft and like wearing a delicate cloud.

A German BMW dealer gave me a Lupo when we had problems with the 535d.

In fairness, I was expecting to have to rent a car from somewhere (the electronic handbrake decided to fix itself at 100mph and obviously needed work), but still, I'm giving them a BMW5, they should at least give something reasonable........

What car I get is all part of the fun. I've never had a bad car from BMW. Always get something fun or totally new, like 30 miles on the clock. Or both.

I've not heard of that solution before - does it only work on fresh stains? And what sort of dilution / length of soaking is recommended?

I introduced someone to their first Pimms this year. They loved it. I'm sure I could do it again :)

I remember being introduced to this lovely, summery, squash drink from a jug one year at a pub with friends.

Bought myself a bottle and some lemonade. Started it one evening after work. May have had 2 or 3 (diluted, obviously) drinks. I then went to stand up ... Sat down again promptly and decided not to try to weave my way anywhere else for a short while :rotfl:

    Still love it

Gen, did you watch the cycling today? I thought Geraint Thomas was amazing on a bike with all the reliability of Trigger's broom. 14 finishers out of 139 starters, and one of those was called Jack Bauer. What's not to love about watching road racing?

    I saw this - that puncture :eek::eek::eek:

Nikkster, how did you cook the courgette?

It is a crisp light cotton. Not as heavy as a shirt cotton and a bit more gauze like.

Not especially Posh. Certainly not with stains on.

This morning OH did remark it was quite a pretty blouse for soemone who had floor washing on her list of 'to do'things. Inspired by LiR rolling about I said I needed to remain alluring to my husband:D. Mr Spirit said he would find me more attractive with a mop:(

    Ho hum.

    Floor still not washed.

    ?

It is beloved of the oldstyle board.

I use it a lot for all sorts of things. It is very good on stains and I often put a large handful in the white washing. It is good at removing fruit/sauce stains and blood.

There are dilution instructions but I just 'chuck' it in. The heavier the stain..the more soda crystal it gets. I use crystals not liquid as I find it more effective and it is cheap.

Thanks - will look out for it in my local 'if it doesn't sell it then it's not worth buying' type store!

Edit: just watching the CW Games closing ceremony. It's enjoyable enough, but the singer from the Gold Coast who's on at the moment really does need to learn to lip-sync...

Are you talking about Kylie? I've seen her twice live and she was the consumate professional and pitch perfect. Not so much tonight, maybe her set up isn't good.

Can you get hankies made out of lawn? Or is it not absorbent enough?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
