Well I should be working, but instead I'm enjoying a lovely sunny evening with a bottle of Chianti.
I might even take tomorrow morning off.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Well, I'm not sure whether Gen's angels would be dancing, but tonight's dinner is making my heart sing. And I don't think it's all due to the Pimms 9+ bottle of red that I've opened in honour).
{insert swear word of choice}. I liked courgettes before but my goodness this one is so sweet and delicious. I was only going to have half - but the other half I'd saved is now on my plate. The aubergine is also very nice and the runner bean - sweet and beany and not at all stringy. Even the flipping letttuce is nice.
I will remember this meal when my alarm goes off tomorrow morning.
That sounds delicious...and well worth eating:T:T:T
We had BBQleg of lamb with rosemary & garlic, burgers sausage and HM bread rolls. I made ratatouille to go with it.
I had made a large jug of Mojito to share, but OH has had a difficult work call so he is on full alert and staying alcohol free. I now feel i should drain the jug...but am not in the mood as OHs news is...so it will go down the sink.
On a brighter note, DD enjoyed Hickstead..and she had a Pimms:eek:

Don't actually know where Hickstead is ..... but I've never had a Pimms.
Hickstead is a horsey event in Sussex. DD does not drink and she had not had Pimms before today.
You are probably clean after your meal. I have a couple of 'orange' splodges on a white lawn blouse. I need to go and put it into soak in soda crystals before it is stained tomatoey for ever.0 -

Noted. If this situation has not changed by the time of my next visit, we will rectify it.
I introduced someone to their first Pimms this year. They loved it. I'm sure I could do it again0 -
Gen..I won't quote them in case you want to delete them but Mr and Miss Spirit both appreciated the essence of 'the hat' and the small girl as Boudicca pictures.
It was our post dinner entertainment.0 -
DD took pictures of a very sweet Palomino pony today.
Spirit was just such a pony and we loved her...so I have gone broody for one. I need to give myself a stern talking to:
I am not the horsey one, ponies are 'g!ts', a lot of work and they eat up all your money.
That should do it.
Still need to throw out the rest of the jug.0 -
Gen, did you watch the cycling today? I thought Geraint Thomas was amazing on a bike with all the reliability of Trigger's broom. 14 finishers out of 139 starters, and one of those was called Jack Bauer. What's not to love about watching road racing? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Can't say I'd beat a track to try it .... but if I were passing a table somewhere I'd gatecrashed and they were there for free I'd try one.0 -
