Murphy's law or something.
We do not have an access panel under our bath. The builder was very keen we had one, we declined.
Despite having had a break all the tiles on the side of the bath experience previously.
This is as far as a wild foolish streak goes in the Spirit household.0 -
Thanks for the good wishes everyone. I'm staying positive about it, as I've said to my mum there's no point thinking the worst at all. It's hard not to though, because my grandma died of breast cancer and her grandma before her.
To be fair to the health services she rang for a GP appointment on Tuesday, got an appointment yesterday, got the referral and they phoned this morning to book her in for Thursday next week. Impressed so far.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

Medical care of a treatment for cancer has come on immeasurably over the past decades. Now is a pretty good time to get cancer if there can be such a thing.0 -

Btw I got message from P doozer wanted to help tonight. Nope, not necessary. Besides which, nothing He CAN do while everything is sodden. Let's see what happens as it dries.
( if I were to hit that ceiling gently to encourage it down now what would be best, while its wet or dry? )
I don't know. We've never removed a soaking wet ceiling, from memory. It's lighter when it's dry, so less dangerous. Poke holes in it to drainwater out if you're worried about coming down imminently. Can you shut that door and leave it to its own devices?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Yes. I've done that.
I've been in a surprisingly buoyant mood this morning. I just went to get some pollen from the fridge and found DH left it too tightly done up ( again). Grrrr. He's really mean with jars, but especially the pollen.0 -

Have you tried that trick of using a lever (strong, but thin, knife under the edge) - to break the vacuum? I know it works on brand new jars that are screw top jamjars.
Needs to be strong enough not to bend/break, yet thin enough to get a good few mm under the rim.0 -

Hot water on the lid if it's a metal lid works every time. The metal expands faster than glass.0 -
I 'll try tap next time.

He told me this when he made Windows 8 look like windows 7 again for me. Cost me £10 or £20 and it all makes sense again now. Apps make sense on apple products, can't get my head around Microsoft ones.
He charged you £20 to install Classicshell? That's pretty reasonable, given that he's got to make a living. Spirit should have a look at that program. It's free to download and just takes a few minutes to install. Even with that, though, I much prefer win7.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
