Hot water on the lid if it's a metal lid works every time. The metal expands faster than glass.

    I do this.

If it fails I take it round to a neighbour.

It's because PCs don't have XP installed any more that's been a major reason for me to not be motivated to replace my current PC so far :(

That ^^^ . I've sadly had a few friends that have had breast cancer and they are doing well now.

Mother in law had bladder cancer for nearly twenty years, and yet she survived to age 90 and died of something entirely different.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

He charged you £20 to install Classicshell? That's pretty reasonable, given that he's got to make a living. Spirit should have a look at that program. It's free to download and just takes a few minutes to install. Even with that, though, I much prefer win7.

Twice I have tried to reply to this and the stupid Internet Explorer bit me.

Third time lucky..I have come in through Chrome and it all looks a lot better. I have tabs, an x I can close things down with and having ctrl- to resize the page it has not whizzed away from me yet.

I am thinking I need to get myself a 'man' like Doozergirl as this is making me miserable.

My doubled medication is a hormone..side effect (as well as hair growth) mood swings.

Was seriously thinking of giving new computer to a charity shop earlier today. I have an ipad gathering dust and in the past stomped on an expensive mobile phone to put it beyond use.

Is this a female thing, smashing gadgets you don't like? DW smashed a TV once - hammer in the middle of the screen. However, I sympathise with you about not liking windows8. Perhaps you could get win7 installed?

Not me .... I'd have to pay for a replacement, so it's only me that gets hurt. Can't afford replacement things from having a tizzy :)

A young man has just pulled up in the school car park in one of these:

I didn't know they existed. It's like a smart car - there isn't a huge call for tiny cars in semi-ruralshire so it stands out, then you see the badge. Very showy number plate.

    Yes. I've done that.

I've been in a surprisingly buoyant mood this morning. I just went to get some pollen from the fridge and found DH left it too tightly done up ( again). Grrrr. He's really mean with jars, but especially the pollen.

I've got a couple of gadgets for opening stuff. One is for pulling can rings - mainly because I'm in too much danger of slashing my wrist by mistake when pulling on eg a can of baked beans (why did they have to start using them on those? Basic can opener is easier to use!). Other is for grabbing various sized lids on jars, think it might have come from Lakeland... Just searched the site and can't find it. :( Actually thinking back it's prob one of the kitchen gadgets inherited from Mum, but it's a good one, better try Google! :o Found something similar! Actually I don't remember using that one - now OH is retired I don't have to worry about opening jars! :rotfl: Though even he had probs with a jar the other day, so prob as well we're prepared! :)

Oh, and have some of these too, they are pretty effective.
