Dh knew a guy who got around university town by unicycle. That must have advantage on car space and public transport. Not for a little basket to put things in though.

Unicycles attract a certain type of attention. And a certain type of cyclsit :o

I struggle to balance on two wheels let alone one!

Feeling rather sad and sorry for myself today. The heat really doesn't agree with me, and is preventing me from "getting on" with everything that needs doing before we head back to the caravan. Have a pile of ironing, and the lottie needs some serious attention, but it's just too hot to dig! My ankles have swollen up huge too. :( Also need to get stuff together for Accountant before we go away too. And order new laptop. But can't seem to make a decision as to which to go for - the heat is really affecting my capability of thinking (which is not too good at the best of times!).

It's also my Dad's Birthday, he would have been 96 today. Very nearly 7 years since he died.

Sorry for the moan - hope you all don't mind,

The commonwealth games opening ceremony reminds me of a primary school play.

Commiserations, take some comfort in that most of the adults in the country could have written the "just too hot" bit over the last couple of days.

It is lovely to read that you are thinking of your dad. That you have posted it says how much he was loved and is missed. It is not a moan to reminisce.

Even in the last week I have been thinking of my mum who died in 2010, and wanting to share "just sitting in the garden with her". My thought is "if I could have just one more day".

Not in the slightest maggie. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Sounds like you could do with some good vibes - so I'm sending some your way.

I've just been on the phone to a friend. She kept makiing comments about it, so I switched over (I'd forgotten it was on).

O.M.G. It's a not very good version of the London 2012 opening ceremony. As someone of Scottish heritage, I'm quite embarrassed.

There was a rather odd bit involving a blonde woman in a kilt just ranting aggressively at the cameras but she seems to have gone away.

Does anyone know why they only built half the stadium?

Why didn't the queen parachute in?

I'm afraid the only bit I might be able to help with is the laptop where there was a perfectly usable Dell on HUKD the other day for £167 which looked like excellent value.

It is quite poor, low rent and .... bizarre.

Was the budget £20 .... to advertise for volunteers/locals to do a turn?
