Why didn't the queen parachute in?

I think the bloke who did that died .... hit a big rock while in one of those body gliding suits.

Edit: Ah, no, bloke who was the Queen didn't die, it was the one who played Bond. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/mark-sutton-dies-olympics-stuntman-2169489

FWIW OH liked the ceremony. I saw about 10 seconds so can't comment. OH is rather taken with the Scottie dogs who are leading in the teams..he has just switched back so I could see one..cute.

Mr Spirit brought back 500g of Buffalo Mozzarella so we had caprese tonight. It was lovely and made me think about my last trip to Italy, Verona last year.

Cue looking up the 2014 programme, fancy Turandot or Carmen, look at dates, tickets, think about the B&B we stayed in last year - near teh Arena, shall we go alone or ask friends, think about flights then:mad: I remember I am not fit to travel at present.

Oh well it was a happy half an hour plotting. OH suggests looking up the Andrea Boccelli concert he gives in his home town..for 2015 to give me something to plan for but I cba.

This is just amateur dramatics now. Appalling.

Ahem! Why are you watching it?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Hope you are able to go with the help and make it work for you. You can always come on here when you need affirmation and cyberhugs. :grouphug:

I would love to have that sort of encouragement and accountability with my overwhelming task (sorting my house out).

I know. I am very fortunate. I have a very long list of people who have at some point offered/ tried to help me, and who are currently offering/ trying to help me. And that includes here. You guys were a huge help last year. Short of finding someone to do the bl00dy thing for me I can't think of anything else anyone could offer.

You say you would like that sort of encouragement and accountability. Could we try and provide that (similar to you turning into a pumpkin at midnight)?

    Ah, that makes sense...

I've done my exercise for the day, so the plan for this evening is to put my feet up, watch the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony and eat chocolate.

ETA: if I did stand a chance of winning a gold medal in something, it would be procrastinating.

Pffft - I'm afraid you'd definitely not get the gold for procrastinating. If I got round to it, I'd be the one claiming it.

How did you find the opening ceremony..?

They're a nice touch, but I'm not falling for it. The opening ceremony was still awful.

2-3 NPs have said it's bad.... that makes it compulsory car crash viewing.

The only encouragement I can give you is: you've seen how I live .... do you really want to end up like this as the end, your best shot, as good as it got, ever?

    :)

OK, it's not bad.... but you see what the rest of the NPs have got going on ... and you deserve a bit of that :)

With the CG, I guess it's just a bunch of fairly poorish countries, that nobody could list/name, doing a few bits of sport .... and we're probably comparing it to the Olympics.

The other countries involved, seeing it on their telly, will just be glad they knew who the Queen was .... they won't be able to understand this accent (why haven't they got subtitles?)

I bet a lot watching don't even know where Scotland is ... probably think it's some small island somewhere faraway.
