I got middle-distance cycling followed by long-distance cycling followed by sprint cycling.

There is a bit of a theme going on!

Bring your bike next time... you can race ahead to the beach and queue/get the ice-creams, then wait until I arrive.... you might have to also give me a 10 minute head start as it's a mile.

DH has a feeling someone is going to call 'take five' and if they do he wants to play it not on alto ( traditional) but on his tenor. We're listening to Paul Desmond and raving about pure, almost etherial beauty that can exist in jazz. That kinda jazz I like. Melodic, nothing unnecessary, timeless beauty. imitation is pale, adding to perfection in interpretation is impossible. Somethings are just good. The famous phrase is just......a feather in the wind to the rest of it IMO.

I'm guessing some of you will be watching BBC1's Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony, that started 24 minutes ago.

Edit: Not actually seen any "ceremony" yet, just a random presenter interviewing random people trackside....

I'm flopped in silence on my mattress trying to get the energy to make the bed. :D

One benefit of being single... you can pull anything over you (sheet, duvet, random towel, long skirt), curl up and just go to sleep... nobody ever knows.

I've not mastered corners yet :D
(there weren't any questions relating to corners. That must be why track cycling is third rather than first :rotfl:).

Not sure my bike will fit in my car anyway.

Do I need to find any more excuses?

Dh knew a guy who got around university town by unicycle. That must have advantage on car space and public transport. Not for a little basket to put things in though.

    BBC1 - what's on that blond Scots woman's face???

Edit: Ah, a flesh-coloured microphone strapped round her ear, then close to her mouth... thing is, it's not her flesh colour, it looks like a hideous boil/growth.

Still more "people I don't know" chitter chattering with other people I don't know... many in a strange accent (Scottish).

First world problem, feel free to gloss over.

I have grown finger nails, in relatively quick time for someone with endocrinology issues like mine. I should be chuffed, but, three of them are really weird shapes. I knew they were all slightly curving now, but one in particular not only curves but then flicks back up again, yuck. So, now I have to cut my fingernails off.

    Ah, that makes sense...

I've done my exercise for the day, so the plan for this evening is to put my feet up, watch the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony and eat chocolate.

ETA: if I did stand a chance of winning a gold medal in something, it would be procrastinating.

Lawn bowls for me as long as you are allowed to sit down between throws with some chips like 10 pin bowling....

No interest in the Commonwealth games and still less in 'ceremonies' - what is that all about, surely if you are interested in sport you want to watch sport?!

DW and I are old parents and yet we have GGB, I am 2nd of GBBGB where final B was when my parents were old....still not a statistical sample though.
    I think....
