Also someone made my cry. Well, technically that's true but doesn't convey the whole story. They'd offered to give me a pep talk re the 't' word, and today I took up their offer. Was explaining what the problem(s) is(are). They were very nice about it all. They've put in a meeting on Friday afternoon for us to have coffee and so I can tell them that I've finished a certain bit. I know exactly what they're doing (providing me a goal/ deadline), but I'm going to try and be gracious and go along with it. Try.
They are hoping to start a PhD via work sometime soon. I made sure I pointed out that whilst it's had work, most people make less of a meal of it than I have!

Hope you are able to go with the help and make it work for you. You can always come on here when you need affirmation and cyberhugs. :grouphug:

I would love to have that sort of encouragement and accountability with my overwhelming task (sorting my house out).

At some point the eldest children could be producing at the same time as their parents. So kids get aunts and uncles younger than they are.

My mum told me that when she was a midwife she came across a woman who had had a baby at 15. The daughter also had a baby at 15. When these three, the grandmother, mother and daughter, were 45, 30 and 15, they were all pregnant at the same time.

Here's my issue. I've fitted fly screens. Therefore I don't get many insects. But I just had to have the bat and gave it to DH with a look of glee on my face. I can only hope he sees something and plays his part. Eventually. I may have to leave a screen open, accidentally of course;).

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Car temperature indicator on the dashboard said it was 26 degrees outside..... which is a pleasant hot/heat. I don't know how hot 26 is as I work in "old numbers"..... but it's a pleasant level of "hot summer's day".

It's about 78 in old money (goes off to look it up)... 79... close enough. I just know the palindromes: 16 is 61 and 28 is 82, I work out the bits in the middle. Oh, and 10 is about 50. Gets you close enough without having to learn the formula.

badminton or table tennis.; I'm ignoring the bit where it says I'm a discus or javelin thrower, no disrespect, but none of them look that feminine.....

For me it chose hockey, netball or throwing athletics. Which is interesting, because I played netball, sprinted and threw things at school. I was a consciencious objector to hockey because it involved getting your trainers dirty (cross country running too, same logic).

Clearly, with my fine physique (cough) I can't take up the discus, shot or javelin either bugs.

It didn't come up with any of the exercise I do actually get: walking, zumba and pilates.

I have to break him in very gently.... while leaving the fly screen ajar. It will be a very delicate psychological exercise that involves great heat and being so hot that it's so hot he needs to strip off and swat flies, then feed me grapes and fan me as I lay on a chaise longue....

Sorry, awake now. Merged two fantasies then:o.

I should have pointed out that the results are directly matched to Commonwealth Games sports.... providing a limited number of outcomes. But, I figured, you could all read and not really care except it's a great 2 minute diversion from doing other more important things :)

When Kermie had his infected-head appointment, I asked the paediatrician if being a doctor meant she was calmer with her own children, or just thought of all the nasty things that could actually be wrong. She said both, it varied. Perhaps being a midwife was similar?

She was a district midwife, with a bicycle, like those ones in "Call the midwife". They mostly deal with the straightforward cases who have normal healthy babies, and leave the problem ones to the doctors. When I was pregnant it never seemed to cross her mind that I would have anything other than a safe birth resulting in a healthy baby.

Supposedly, the secret is to have handsome sons. On average, better-looking men are more likely to produce daughters first.;)

I think financially successful men are supposed to be more likely to produce boys, though???

    Nearly, but not quite, 80F.

    Ah, that makes sense...

I've done my exercise for the day, so the plan for this evening is to put my feet up, watch the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony and eat chocolate.

ETA: if I did stand a chance of winning a gold medal in something, it would be procrastinating.

It thinks I should do diving, or maybe netball or hockey. I don't really like "doing exercise" as an end in itself. I prefer to get exercise by walking a dog, or cycling to work, or similar.
Just popped out to the car, it's not as hot as it was yesterday .... yesterday I couldn't move or do anything. Flicked on the ignition to read the dashboard temp gauge and it said it's 34 degrees outside. It's overcast.

How hot it feels and how hot it is can be very different. How hot it feels depends on wind speed, humidity, and whether you've got sunshine hitting you, all of which can make a lot of difference quite apart from the actual air temperature.

I also took the current rubbish and recycling, along with some random packing materials, down to the tip. So not much progress..... but every little helps.

Now that you have your own place, will you feel able to use the wheelie bin and/or recycling box/bin/whatever?
    My non-UK grandparents had 4 grandchildren: 0, 2, 2, 0. My paternal grandfather ...

But I thought your dad had three kids???

I will .... sometimes. Trouble is they're huge - and, currently, dirty/minging.... so they need a good hosing/bleaching (which is on the list).

Bins 1/4 of the size would be more than adequate for my needs..... I don't use much. But the tip's round the corner, so it's easy to stare at a pile and think "I'll drop that off". Once I get used to them - and once it's dark in the evenings and cold.... etc.... I'll probably find it easier to shove the bin outside the gate :)

Some things I can't face using immediately, for a variety of fears and OCD-type thinking .... but once they've been around awhile, I slowly pluck up courage to use things/get round to it, until one day I am in the mood and just do it.

Re dad. No, mum had 3 ... one before she met him.
