You know sometimes you read some random thing on here that wasn't meant for you, but you go off and act on anyway?
Well thanks to the person who mentioned the bleach that you can get with limescale remover. I've been using both separately but this is w-a-y better. Thank you thank you thank you! Can't remember who you were, but have a feeling it may have been Doozer or Silver. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? This morning I cut the lawn.
Fir loaded car for tip.
I did some washes.
We stared moving heavy sofa ( doozer arrived and took my side) then we moved a light sofa)
cleaned both sofas.
Cleaned rooms sofas in.
Fourth coated corner of wall that needed it....that paint can now go out!
Put cheese room arm chair number one into room with precarious ceiling ( armchair number two will go their on Friday ( if ceiling is holding!) because we need more, smaller chairs in the cheese room for weekend.
Drew a new face on the scare crow
Drove to tip.
Just about to wrestle washed sofa cushion covers back on to the cushions and the mattress on the bed part ( that's been airing).
I still have to sort out bedding for the guest beds ( I have it, but need to wash it cos will be musty from storage).
Not sure what else. Fir has vacuumed loads and loads and loads.
Would really like a nap.......0 -

She was a district midwife, with a bicycle, like those ones in "Call the midwife". They mostly deal with the straightforward cases who have normal healthy babies, and leave the problem ones to the doctors. When I was pregnant it never seemed to cross her mind that I would have anything other than a safe birth resulting in a healthy baby.
I think financially successful men are supposed to be more likely to produce boys, though???
Nearly, but not quite, 80F.
There's a hypothesis that explains it here. I knew that as men get older they produce more daughters than sons and older women similar but much more so. Also fathers who have had certain diseases are more likely to have children of one gender than another.
Jet pilots (according to a German study) have more sons while training but more daughters after about 1000 hours flying.
There are specific ethnic groups in Asia with birth order peculiarities but there are other factors working there.:(There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
A tendency to having more boys than girls or vice versa seems to be inheritable. Certain jobs affect the chances of fathering a boy or a girl; butchers, brewers, presidents!

Interesting. Thanks. The "more likely to have a girl as you age" thing certainly fits my family. My parents, my brothers, me ... all began with a boy or boys and either went on to have a girl afterwards or not:
My parents : BBBG
Brother #1: BB
Brother #2: BG
Brother #3: B
Me: BG
My grandparents don't fit the pattern though. Sadly history does not record *what* the article suggested that they tried.
Yes, yes, plural of anecdote isn't data. I know.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Well I always thought my Daddy was handsome!
This amused me greatly, the 'best' reasons the Highways Agency heard for being on the hard shoulder of a motorway. The first reason is just, well, what can you say?- One motorist pulled over because they saw fire” on their dashboard display, it later turned out it was the name of the Adele track they were listening to.
- One motorist parked up and fell asleep on the M6.
- People stopping to read a map or check their sat-navs.
- Traffic officers stopped with two cars on the hard shoulder – the owners were half way through the selling and buying process for one of the cars.
- One driver realised their car insurance policy was up for renewal – they were ringing around for quotes to renew.
- Parents feeding children.
- Taxi drivers waiting on the hard shoulder around Heathrow airport for their client’s flights to arrive.
- A mobile phone operator, stopping at regular intervals in their private car carrying out signal tests on the hard shoulder.
- A driver who stopped to pick flowers.
- Have you broken down Sir? No, came the reply, we are taking pictures of our new born grandchild (in their open top sports car) as it is a lovely day.
This is so apt.
On my way home this evening as I queued on dual carriageway, that lead to the motorway, there were two cars parked on the hard shoulder of the carriage way opposite. The transactions appeared to be 'her' giving him his possessions. She was accompanied by her mum. 'He' was accompanied by his dad. Amongst other possessions a standard lamp changed hands.0 -
