Supermarkets want the actual receipt detailing what items you bought, not just that you bought something from them.
Argos do that now although they used to be flexible about card statements etc. Fell foul of that when I bought a dodgy USB recently.
Goes to show, I suppose, that having 3 sons doesn't constitute a statistically valid sample? Because only 1/3, 2/3 or all can inherit astigmatism, not 1/2 (-:

Well yes, as long as another 1/6 or 1/2 of your sons do as well.:)
Some cheeky neighbour b4st4rd has not only parked on my freehold land between my gate and my car..... (I think I saw who did it) .... but that's blocked me in.

Not supposed to happen .... cheeky bugg4hs. Hope they've gone before I want to go out in 45 minutes..... I don't want to/shouldn't have to go door knocking to find out whose car it is.
OK blocked you in, if you want to make something of it, the phrase to use with the police is they are preventing you from going about your business.

If they've blocked you out, the police will shrug and say "so what"

    I'm with Tesco mobile too.

The trouble in me area is poor reception. One brand isn't good everywhere.

Another interesting mobile fact is that your calls signal strength means nothing as far as your internet bandwidth.

I had a 3 sim for a short while. It was great on the internet and I'd often tether it to my PC as it was faster than my BT broadband.
The only trouble was It was really bad for call signal, so it had to go.
I was with Tesco (o2) , then Asda (vodaphone) and now Talkmobile (voda again). Keen on trying 3 as their 3:2:1 tariff sounds great value and I use my phone as sparingly as if the time I spend on it well be taken off my life but doubled.

A friend on another thread has a £1 a month contract I was just too slow to take up! No longer available, as we might all guess.

Less than a year and not enough? How much are you looking for? Bearing in mind it gets you out of all the planning/ letting stuff.

The sky keeps lighting up over here. No sign of rain, or thunder, which is odd. Definitely plenty of lightening though.

Edit: think I've just heard the feintest rumble of thunder...

Just realised, not only did I sleep through the storms last night... But my bedroom window was open.

I find it somewhat sad that an organisation needs to have a department that solely deals with complaints that have come to the attention of the board members.
Me too.... if the systems were in place it should never be needed. Why aren't these people just fixing problems full stop??

It feels kinda "wrong" to email individuals.... shouldn't be necessary. It mucks up my "systems and logic processing pathways" that following the rules/system doesn't work ... and that there's another way that does work. I was just waiting patiently ... believing it'd just happen.... and my way should have been correct.

I'd acquired the right food, and the weather was going to be scorchio (certainly is). I think I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself as I've had company the past 3 weekends (a rare occurrance), and this weekend I've not. Plus 3 of my good friends are pregnant, 2 I work with so I'm conscious I'll have fewer people to talk to/ have a giggle with in a few months time,

It was pretty much the other way round for me when Isaac was born - I was the first out of all my close friends to have a baby, by some years, and I found a lot of my friends drifted away from me once I had a baby, sort of assuming I'd not be able to talk / giggle etc. It has sometimes left me feeling a bit isolated.
DH is just a little taller than me. My legs are as long or longer. Not sure about arms. He doesn't have breasts in the way though, and better upper body strength. He is not a great painter though. I just try not to notice now, at least he has energy!:D

We just checked, his arms are not longer than mine. They are in considerable better shape though:)

I have short arms - I find that most coats, jackets and jumpers that otherwise fit me well are designed for gorillas. My old flatmate was an inch taller than me, but could reach about 4-5 inches higher. Humph!

Not raining here - but very, very humid and sticky indeed. OH and Isaac enjoyed themselves greatly at Farnborough Airshow, and returned very hot and sticky, bearing Indian takeway. Win!

I completely agree. But has it ever been any different? The victors seem to get to write their version of history (who was right, who was wrong), but what how was it at the time?

We definitely seem to be living in 'interesting' times.

The losers at the time often get to write their own version, it seems to me. See Japan after the Second World War (at least for domestic consumption) or China in relation to Chairman Mao.

Or the Bosnians after the 1990s kerfuffle.

Edit: this time last week I'd not long arrived at PN's. Still can't believe how natural it all felt - guess it shouldn't have been too much of a surprise seeing as we chat so much, but still.

That's because you're so easy to be with :)
Loved last weekend. Wish you could have been here this weekend too, but it's not practical as it's so far away :)

It's about time somebody invented a "Beam Me Up Scotty" machine that cost just 2p/mile :)
