That's because you're so easy to be with :)
Loved last weekend. Wish you could have been here this weekend too, but it's not practical as it's so far away :)

It's about time somebody invented a "Beam Me Up Scotty" machine that cost just 2p/mile :)

Takes both people being easy to get on with to have as enjoyable a weekend as last weekend was ;) I did warn you I can be pretty relaxed and that I was there to try to help rather than sightsee :)
That must be the most time two NP have spent together (not counting lir and fir)?

    Hot. Bothered. Tired. Fed up.

I want big rain and fresh smells again, not arid heat.

Surely the Aussie in you is telling you it's not that hot.

Speaking of things nearly on topic. I was reading one of those my house has gone up by a million percent threads couple of weeks ago, so I happened to look at zoopla. Next door (not the ones I share a driveway with) is SSTC (no signs have gone up). Speaking to Mr. LovelyNeighbour this evening, apparently our local councillor is buying it. I've passed him a few times (there is a monthly 'meet your councillor' thingy on a nearby street corner). Was slightly worried I'd end up with wild student parties next door. He doesn't look very wild. I'm now more concerned that I'm going to end up on the front page of the local rag as some feral neighbour from hell

Near neighbour was telling me that their house is under offer at very near asking price, after only 3 weeks on the market. Last year they went on the market at 20% less, got no interest in a month and decided to stay put.

Apparently their buyers live close by and want the house so they have room to host family from overseas! A log cabin at the bottom of their garden would be so much cheaper.

I need a sleep out Gen. Or at least window rattlers. It was v hot here yesterday... Hot enough that the tar on the roads melted in places. My house is,really well insulated with relatively small Windows, so it's harder to let out the heat that's built up in the day.

It isn't as hot here as where I was in Aus, but bear in mind I was in Melbourne, where the weather differential is less pronounced.

Still, I probably managed six hours total, so could be worse. Am working today so getting some sleep important. Quite looking forward to it though as my library has AC.

Just an observation - you don't actually seem to like being long property (I know I'm one to talk, I don't like anything except for rain, mars ice creams and moaning about everything else). Tenant(s) appear to be a pain in your !!!! - I've never liked the idea of having to deal with a tenant personally either. At 26% gain you have made a tidy sum and don't need to worry about people three streets over objecting to planning permission. Plus your annual CGT allowance x2 will limit the taxable gain.

Is there a 'thank god I don't have to bother showing some random how to work a radiator during my precious evenings' premium to take into consideration?

Probably the most amusing post you've written for ages :)
    Made me really LOL
