Probably Sue Halpin's replacement!
BT have lots of monkies. At least these ones speak English with a UK accent.
I find it somewhat sad that an organisation needs to have a department that solely deals with complaints that have come to the attention of the board members. My understanding: there are a limited number of licences for mobile operators, say 6. So that means everyone else (eg Tesco) has to partner up with someone who has a licence (eg O2).
That is the limit of my understanding
Only 4. There were 5: Orange, Vodafone, 02, T-mobile and 3. Now Tmobile and Orange are owned by the same people, piggy back off each other and rebranded as EE. Everyone else that offers mobile telephony has to piggyback off one of them- even Virgin who offer their own cable land lines.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I know exactly what you mean - I couldn't be bothered to go to the trouble on my own; just don't enjoy it enough to make the effort.neverdespairgirl wrote: »I got a score of 3. What about the rest of you?

I expect npower have such a department. If they do I'll certainly be seeking it out.
4? Well, I was a lot closer with my guess than I thoughtI know exactly what you mean - I couldn't be bothered to go to the trouble on my own; just don't enjoy it enough to make the effort.
I'm not sure I can put into words how much I wish it wasn't just 'for one', but it is, and Friday evenings like this feel like they were made for sitting outside eating badly cooked food. So I try not to let spinsterhood get in the way of doing things that I want to do.
It's when doing 'man things' like having a BBQ, learning how to drill, putting out the rubbish that I feel most single female though. Even though I'd probably still be doing them even if I wasn't single.0 -

I think you've got the curtains sorted for now, but be careful about cutting out knots if it doing so means that you lose the length of cord which they started with - I mean, so that you can't loosen them without the cut ends of the string disappearing into the header never to be seen again ... :eek:PasturesNew wrote: »Only one minor mishap of note. Put rings on first curtain, threaded rings onto pole. For second curtain I was putting one ring on at a time, while holding the pole, then sliding the ring onto the pole. Held it up to take a look and realised that I had the curtains facing different ways..... so one was inside out, whichever way you looked at it
I've had to take my curtain pole down more than once because I put the wrong number of rings either side of the fixed central bit ... making that mistake once you can understand, twice is definitely a little careless, but more than twice ...0 -

As Linda Carter says in the comments below...
It's simple if your not colour blind.
I'm with Tesco mobile too.
The trouble in me area is poor reception. One brand isn't good everywhere.
Another interesting mobile fact is that your calls signal strength means nothing as far as your internet bandwidth.
I had a 3 sim for a short while. It was great on the internet and I'd often tether it to my PC as it was faster than my BT broadband.
The only trouble was It was really bad for call signal, so it had to go.0 -

Thanks for that post, good perspective
I think if I really wanted to do it, and had the right food or the energy to go to the shops to get it, then I would do it. I've been single for so many years that I am fortunate to have acclimatised to the situation where I don't miss the companionship very often. It's when doing 'man things' like having a BBQ, learning how to drill, putting out the rubbish that I feel most single female though. I quite like getting the drill out and painting the kitchen all by myself (though having slightly longer arms would come in handy sometimes ...!)
I sent a message to an old Uni friend of mine who is Malaysian. She said that she often flies that route when she comes to Europe (Zurich and Copenhagen, I think) and it just makes you focus on how precious life is.
I suspect that we may never know the definitive truth about who was responsible. Whichever 'side' did it, it's in their interests to deny it forever. The black boxes are now in Russian custody and investigators are being denied access (the rebels I think only allowed a 'humanitarian' corridor).
I am highly ill-informed in the affairs of the region but Putin has brazened his way out of anything inconvenient in the past; if it was Russia behind this, if they don't play by the rules there are limits to what the rest of the (reasonable) world can do. We can't descend to their level.0 -

I'd acquired the right food, and the weather was going to be scorchio (certainly is). I think I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself as I've had company the past 3 weekends (a rare occurrance), and this weekend I've not. Plus 3 of my good friends are pregnant, 2 I work with so I'm conscious I'll have fewer people to talk to/ have a giggle with in a few months time,
I'm sure I'd be the one drilling and painting etc anyway - I like to get involved (/ be in control) with things like that. But I'm very conscious that most of the people I know have a significant other to do these things with. And e.g. it's too much hassle to have a BBQ on your own.
Will delete: My my was Malaysian (now officially British). We've all flown that route (thought not regularly/ recently). All this war-mongering is quite scary stuff.0 -
I don't know whether to complain about the heat or just sweat a lot. I hope there is a thunder storm soon!0

There is a lot of angry grey off to the east of laaandddaaann. I assume it will translate into a downpour at about the same time my train arrives!0
