Just saying, perhaps.the non-working light ready has both pir and also daylight sensor so it would only.come on in the dark if you moved in front of it...no way of testing now the new bulb is broken...although if the neighbours have the same fitting you could ask them?I think....0

No sign of anything vaguely like a pir on or inside the housing.
Neighbours are new, theirs either works or doesn't .... and they've probably not touched it. They've only been there 2 days longer than me. Trying to catch the plumber later.... will ask him, but I suspect it's non-pir.
Didn't try out the light in the dark ... I put the old bulb back in ... will turn it on when I go out, see if it comes on when I come back (but I bet it doesn't).
On the wardrobe.... I think I'll get some superglue. So that's on the list now.0 -

Edit:
Well, that didn't go too well. Got all the bits out, lined them up and counted them as per instructions. All present.
First, join two plastics to four metals. Done.
Next, put the next four metals in place..... first one I attempted broke the plastic framework/corner completely.
So, that's a !!!!!!!.
Bought it from Lidl, in Cornwall. Need to find where the receipt is now .... could be anywhere as I've moved!
I just want to cry really ... everything I try to achieve just ends in disaster.
Sitting here with a washing machine not plumbed in, a smashed bulb and no outside light, no stairs light, no living room light, no wardrobe as I just broke it .... no phoneline, no broadband. No curtains upstairs ... even the blow up mattress is "missing" (temporarily) the plug that you screw in to blow it up through.
I daren't touch anything else
Do screwfix sell gaffer tape?
Actually, I should shut up with these helpful ideas that aren't very well received. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

In fact PN - you've inspired me to at least try and get some stuff sorted.
A while ago (prob about 6 weeks back), I got someone round to quote for a new front door. Lovely bloke, seemed to know a lot about doors (good omen!) and I'd happily get him to do the work. But I'd only got one quote, so knew it would be better to at least get another.
Looked around online, but wasn't really sure who else to call (can't really get a good idea about people from online ads). There is a little joinery nearby, but they don't have specific 'opening hours'. Tried calling once and it went to answerphone so I hung up (I get a bit funny leaving messages).
Fast forward a few weeks of doing nothing. I womaned up and left a message this morning. Chappie is coming round on Monday evening to give me a quote.
I am also going to make at least one call this afternoon to get someone to give me a quote for the outside work that needs doing.
They are the two jobs I'd told myself were going to get sorted this year. They need sorting this year.0 -

Superglue.... after all, what trouble could I possibly get into using superglue??0 -
....
Not had a response from the BT lady. Special team still haven't called me "... will call you within one hour...." 30 hours ago.
I did have a look at unpicking the gather on the header of the 2nd set of curtains you brought round.... but they've been knotted too tightly .... so I'll give the knot some more "wiggles" every now and again. Can't cut it or something awful might happen.... although I guess that bit of cotton stuff's just for gathering .... and I don't gather curtains
I should just cut that knot out and ungather them.... then hang them upstairs.0 -

Lidl isn't so far from you - could you go in and ask?

They were probably knotted a very long time ago!
No worries about keeping them 'nice' so you can give them back. I definitely don't want them back! Those were at the top of the stairs (the only curtains I've replaced so far).
No posh alert on the phone call - made from my mobile. I've a landline, but there isn't a phone plugged in. I can put my mobile on silent and ignore it - I'd end up unplugging the landline to avoid answering it! Plus, I'd have to get round to buying a phone to plug into it.

Also, a bank statement is as good as a receipt for providing purchase AIUI.0
