I gave up with BT. They messed me around royally and then simply refused to compensate for their errors. I moved my home phone lines and broadband to Zen, and the new line and broadband at Sheringham is going to be EE.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
See, I really shouldn't be allowed to post here. Pop in occasionally (very) have a quick read, learn something interesting, say a few thanks and run. Having beetroot and egg salad tonight (tastes better than it sounds) and am now convinced that I need to buy watercress.... how did I not know this?
Thanks nice people0 -

Please note I am not sure what ' a portion' of watercress is.
I'm pretty sure its the kind of story the daily mail would have covered. Google should find it very quickly.0 -

I didn't realise you had a place in Sheringham, I assumed you stayed in an hotel.
Friends used to have a holiday place in Norfolk, but they found the Friday afternoon traffic too tiresome, so sold up and bought a barn near here instead. Barn is only 45 minutes drive from here. Their kids seem to use it more than them, driving over on mid week evenings to do whatever kids doI'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It is activities week at DS's school. Today he has decorated a cake. It has a USS Enterprise on the top, while round the side is a row of Tardises, Darleks, weeping angels and K9s. I think it's not bad considering that his double jointed fingers make fine motor control difficult for him.
Good for anyone, never mind double jointed fingers.
Did it taste good as well as look good?PasturesNew wrote: »I've never been keen on armchairs, I think the arms take up too much space and you can't curl up and be comfy in them. I'd prefer a 2-seater and a 3-seater to a 3-piece suite.
It's nice to have a sofa you can stretch out on, I think. 2-seater's aren't long enough for that, so a 3-seater wins there. When you live in this country, just about every other nations Train network is really good.
I think the UK's trains are pretty good, particularly inter-city trains. They are incredibly expensive, but are reliable and comfortable....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Just caught up and :T:T:T to Gen on the remission news
Envious of Nikkster on her courgette ...
Hope BT sort your phone line out tomorrow PN
I had my first workshop on the course earlier this week. Work agreed that I could travel the night before and stay in the hotel, to avoid having to tackle commuter trains. It went OK and the group (5 others) is nice. But the realisation of how much work is involved has sunk in: 280 hours in 9 months
Maintaining energy and regular motivation will be a challenge, but at least the first one is over and done with.0 -

Loads of youngsters in South London talk "jafaican". The more you hear it, the cuter it ain't.
When I was growing up in south London three of the typical markers for locals were:
1. right - a word added in regularly to every sentence
2. turned round and said - "He turned round and said, right, "do you know what I got?" and I turned round and said.... and he turned round and said....."
it added nothing in meaning to "he said" and "I said".
3. questions requesting confirmation all the time, "I went to the shop, didn't I? And I bought some fags, right, and he went off with them, didn't he?"lostinrates wrote: »That's incredible.
Is she communicative too? For example, quite a few dogs will point out when they feel its time for supper, subtly with a lick of the lips every now and then, or less subtly with the odd snap of the chops.
My Mama feeds the dogs after humans have had their dinners. If she doesn't show signs of getting a move on pretty quickly after she's finished her own grub, both collies go and sit next to her, and every time she so much as shifts on her chair, they look ever more hopeful.
In the mornings, once Dad's finished his breakfast, every time he lifts a finger both dogs dash down the corridor to the front door, in case he's about to go for a walk.
Collies don't do subtle....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Tomorrow's going to be very, very hot.
So, obviously, OH and Isaac are going to the Farnborough Airshow.
Isaac breaks up for the summer at midday, and OH is going to dash off with him to enjoy the show. They aren't taking Kermie - the combination of too-hot and very noisy doesn't sound much like Kermie time.lostinrates wrote: »
DH now says he definitely wants speedos. I really NEED that roll eyes smilie.
Maybe he'll look wonderfully sexy in them?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
