How often do you feed dogs? We are feeding Doglet twice a day, normally before we eat, but this seems a bit wrong. I thought their metabolism is geared to gorging every couple of days and then going without?
Ben has breakfast at about 7am and dinner at 5.45 pm. he may have some left overs from us..meat & potatoes ..but only small portions. He has a big bonio at 8pm . He really enjoys his meals.
He is a good weight, not overweight at all. His backlegs are starting to show his age. He is 10 and at his last review at the vet the invoice read " geriatric assessment".0 -

Oh yes, ours have 'bed time biscuit ' but they have it at what ever time they go to bed, girls sit for it and kiwi runs into cage for it and peeps out.
If ours are having meaty bones ( rather than mainly entertainment ones) they have those for break fast usually.0 -
PN, contact sue.halpin@bt.com with your problem. direct line is 0131 448 4318.
She, at least, speaks English. The Indian call centres are absolutely useless if your problem is outside their scripted responses. They have simply no clue, and they care even less.
Good luck.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

If you were closer you'd have been welcome to another seaside weekend.... although not much has changed here, so it'd be mean to take you away from the luxury of your own home
You deserve a rest; I hope sweating at home is restful for you.
Lol at the soup - according to the packet it was well past it's best, but it was absolutely fine. Just inappropriate for the weather. Which I can only blame on myself!
I spent a hot 4 hours in the car last Friday evening, dread to think what it would be like tomorrow.
My house is definitely not luxury compared to yours. There is a possibility I'll just work from home tomorrow, but if I do take the day off there is plenty I should be doing. More likely I'll potter round the garden for a bit, then stop pottering and just lie around (possibly with a cheeky glass of Pimms or a G+T). Also toying with the idea of a mini-BBQ. I've been gifted a few disposable barbecues so I might just use one of them. We'll see.PasturesNew wrote: »midget gems (?)
Midget gems = sweeties
I think you meant little gems. Though you were probably thinking about midget gems!See, I really shouldn't be allowed to post here.
You should and you are!0 -

Envious of Nikkster on her courgette ...
Maintaining energy and regular motivation will be a challenge, but at least the first one is over and done with.
Thanks Yorkie. I'm hopeful that there are a few more on their way
I also think that there are the beginnings of flower buds on my butternut squashes, which is stupidly exciting.
Well done on starting the course. If you need any assistance with motivation etc, you're in the right place. The NP do that very well indeed. In fact I might have to tap into that again quite soon...0 -
So I found something to do this evening that is even more sweat-inducing than sitting in an un-air conditioned office eating soup after a 40 minute walk in the midday sun... I've mown the lawn. Green bin collection this Tuesday and I had a woefully empty bin.
Also figured it'd be too hot tomorrow (and I might fancy a mid-afternoon Pimms...), raining on Saturday, and there is a 'thing' on in town over the weekend so if it's not raining on Sunday I might pootle over to check it out. Which might only leave Monday.
Bin is now about 1/3 full - grass clippings + I took down most of a buddleia that looks like it had self-set a few years ago (right next to an as yet unidentified tree which I'm hoping is going to resurrect itself...).
One cold shower later and I'm feeling a lot better!0 -

I don't think so PN. Not at all.0 -

Besides which, if we do get this rain forecast you might want to remow on Monday.......hot and wet it might shoot up like a rain forest.
We have to move a buddleia in autumn. Cannot decide where to. In to privet hedge for screening seems most likely, though will make cutting the hedge a lot harder!0 -

I think it's been 2 weeks since I last mowed the grass (just before my parents came to stay). It was surprisingly short. There were a couple of brown areas - with green weeds interspersed. And some very tall weeds (not sure what they are, but I don't like them!). There is quite a lot of clover, which doesn't help the lawn look well-manicured, but has flowers in a really lovely shade of purple.
I've cut the buddleia back hard - next step will have to be getting rid of the trunk - and somehow the roots.0
