DH is considering applying for a job that would have a substantial pay cut but be the right side of London and he'd be starting from the point of negotiating some work from home. It might be he'd be in London only two nights a week for example. Not sure because the maths looks cruddy ( big pay cut but benefits good, :D

I think this sounds really positive. You and FiR have a very challengeing lifestyle...major renovation, living apart mid week, lodging costs, health issues, RP,a family of animals. The opportunity to improve the balance...even with less money..needs serious consideration.

BBQ-wise, I've been gifted one of these:

I was told I've been lent it (as I mentioned, I'm not good at receiving gifts as I'm very fussy), but I think it's mine to keep as I really like the colour ;) This was the BBQ that was christened when my parents visited :)
Nice. Generally, though, for one person a BBQ's just too much effort: getting it out, waiting for it to light up/heat up, cooking your burger .... then waiting for it to cool down before cleaning it and putting it away again :)

    I scored 9/10, number 6 fouled me.

    10/10.
I hated clicking the buttons where I knew what I was seeing..... in case I was wrong :)

I got 4- but I couldn't see any of them and just lucked out through random chance. still, the only problems colourblindness has ever caused me is inability to do these tests. And there was the incident at school when I painted a picture of a person with a green face. And I once bought a purple jacket by mistake. Hmmmm.

I am very happy with home working for staff where the work is suitable. My team all have some kind of flexible working.

I don't mind it in principle but the only people who ever ask to do it on my team are the ones who I don't trust to do any work unless I am sitting somewhere I can see their screen, so I strongly discourage it.

Effort doesn't bother me too much. Esp when it comes to eating!
In my family we have a tendency towards over-catering. Hence the lack of svelte-ness.
Christmas dinner and BBQs= cooking for a few days...

Definitely getting old... After Newsnight, watching a programme about the making of Crossrail. It's making me miss London :(

I feed dogs miles a way from our meals. There is no confusion between the two. They have a dog safe left over bowl in the dresser for the next meal. ( generally we eat after them because its easier in our routine) in the winter the dogs eat at three or four pm. In summer between five and seven.

I think my mother got into the habit of people-first-dogs-second because anything left over that is OK for dogs goes into their dinner dishes. I don't think she does it as a control thing.

How often do you feed dogs? We are feeding Doglet twice a day, normally before we eat, but this seems a bit wrong. I thought their metabolism is geared to gorging every couple of days and then going without?

Dogs I've lived with got fed twice daily.
Most are large enough for me.... being a midget :)

Not 2 seater sofas! You aren't that short.

10/10 here - didn't you say your son was colour-blind?
