I (think I) was very clear that I was happy to take them back and get my money back if they weren't to PN's liking (I generally prefer gifts before they are unwrapped, I'm grateful but not easy to please!). I'd not necessarily set out to find a gift, but I saw them and thought they were cute (and fitted the theme) so that was that!0 -

Just looked - don't think films are on there. (Stupid question - guessing the answer is no!) Do you have any way of recording? (e.g. one of my non-posh alert tvs has a usb port in the back of it)0 -
This evening we walked the dog on West Wittering beach. It was beautiful. The tide was out so the beach was huge and the sea was warm to paddle in.
Dinner was in a pub. Sitting on a terrace overlooking a small harbour watching the sun go down.
We have had such a lovely evening..it felt like we were on holiday.:) Not bad for a spur of the moment decision when OH got in.0 -

Lydia and I gave pn no such option at Christmas. She liked it or lumped it:rotfl:
I'm enjoying looking for things to get some one I care about. The trying to leave my taste out of it is tougher. Architect smirked at my bathroom mirror and doozer said ' its very you' and grinned.. Its perfect then, its very us.

I enjoy choosing/ buying/ giving gifts a lot, lot more than I typically enjoy receiving them.0 -

That's where I was thinking of going with our dogs next week BUT, another Mse chum from another thread who is just wonderful and very dear to me knows a private beach where she walks her dogs ( not sure if it belongs to a friend of hers) and we're going to meet up and walk with her. The dogs already know each other well.
Still, I wish I'd thought of a spirit/ rates beach walk to suggest.0 -

lemonjelly wrote: »This might sound tacky to some. In the bedroom is a huge brass picture. It was sent by distant family who live in Africa. It is so dominant, it takes up a whole wall (it is over 2 metres wide). It is a family of elephants.
It lived at my nans house for years, but she never put it up - too big for her. But I loved it (that, & a watercolour she had that my folks haven't been able to find yet).
Anyway, the poster would probably clash with the bomb picture too.
Liked the line of thinking though.
Wondering about putting it on the wall that faces you as you walk down the stairs IYSWIM. Could use the same arguement then LIR...:rotfl:
Loads of people had this.
Escher prints were all the rage as well and yes loads of people had the one of the tennis player.
Stumbled across an interesting vid that should appeal to some; it has music but it's basically a rapid montage of images. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
